On Saturday, January 5th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Rice University to host the South Texas Preseason All-State, an invite-only event for the class of 2025-2028.

More than 60 players made their way to Rice University and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

Today, we take a look at the scouting reports from each pitcher in attendance as well as rank the top performers from the day.

TOP PITCHERS

1. Aiden Shreve RHP / Pieper, TX / 2026

Positional Profile: RHP RHS Good build to add strength. Delivery is sound overall, occasionally gets quick with front side. Arm works, arm speed present, will improve. Solid FB, will continue to add velo in future. FB has ability to pitch up/down. Good down plane, carry up. Slider has spin, inconsistent release point hinders present command, when landed, shows good action. Change is solid 3rd pitch, deception present. Starter. Solid mix, around the plate, velo will continue to develop. Secondary will be firm.
Body: 6-4, 200-pounds. Good physical build, width to shoulders and back. Will add strength in future.
Delivery: Stretch start with front step rocker. Good use of backside in delivery. Front shoulder gets quick at times causing arm to drag. Online stride, solid finish.
Arm Action: RH. Full circle, works well. Good finish out front showing extension. Arm speed present, will continue to improve.
FB: T90, 88-90 mph. Solid FB showing good down plane at times. FB shows carry up in zone. Around the plate with FB. Will add velo in future. T2395, 2295 average rpm.
SL: 78-80 mph. Shows solid spin. Late, short action showing depth to finish. Chance to develop into abv avg pitch. T2342, 2309 average rpm.
CH: 81-83 mph. Good pitch. Tail/sink action with deception present. Action to both sides of plate. T2276, 2150 average rpm.
