Texas Class of 2026 Rankings Update (December 2024)

The 2024 fall season has come to an end, which means it's almost time for the 2025 Texas spring season to kick-off, and it's also time for an update to our state rankings. Today, we continue our month long stretch of state rankings updates with the 2026 class. We've expanded the list to 250 prospects and although there wasn't a lot of movement at the top, there were still plenty of risers throughout the entire group. Below, we give a snapshot of the Top 10, dive into the Top 5, and list out the top uncommitted players for this class. TOP 5

1. 2026 Grady Emerson (Argyle) - Texas Commit

The recent Longhorn commit continues to hold the #1 spot in the ‘26 class. The Prep Baseball All American has all the tools to go with production and continues to surpass lofty expectations. Can hit for both avg and power from the left side and is going to stick at short. Has played in a lot of big baseball games, and usually has a way of standing out above the rest.

2. 2026 Jorvorskie Lane (OD Wyatt) - Uncommitted

The top uncommitted player in Texas and one of the top uncommitted in the country, Lane has some of the loudest tools in the class. ++ bat speed allows him to consistently produce triple digit exit velos. He has played every position up the middle of the field and has a natural feel for the game. Lane is also one of the youngest players in this class.

3. 2026 Cole Koeninger (Keller) - Tennessee Commit

The Prep Baseball All American and recent Tennessee commit has been the biggest riser since this summer. He continues to force his way into the discussion when talking about the elite talent in a loaded 2026 class. He has all the tools you could dream of out a SS, and a frame that is just as impressive. Koeninger can also hop on the mound and sit in the low 90’s with the ability to spin it. Big 2024 for Cole.

4. 2026 Trey Rangel (The Colony) - Texas Commit

The 2x Future Gamer and future Longhorn continues to be one of the top arms in the state. Easy mover down the mound with a natural, clean throwing motion. Sits in the low 9’s and there is plenty more in the tank. He can rip 3,000+ breakers and shows the ability to manipulate the shape. The frame has plenty of weight to stack on, and it is exciting to think what he could develop into down on the 40.

5. 2026 Chandler Hart (Allen) - Uncommitted

The LHP from Allen comes in at #5, and possesses more upside than anyone in this class. Hart moves effortlessly down the mound with his 6 ‘5 frame and can repeat his delivery and hold his angles throughout the entirety of an outing. He didn’t pitch this year, or he would still be at 2, because we are that big of a believer in the stuff. HIs fastball sits in the low 9’s with a slider that can get swing and miss from both sides of the plate, and a change that already flashes avg. He has Friday night starter written all over him, and I am excited to see him get back on the mound. Chandler is also a good hitter from the right side and can impact the baseball with some thump.
