On Saturday, August 24th, the Prep Baseball Utah staff hosted it's first Scout Day of the year with the CBA Utah Scout Day at Crimson Cliffs High School in Washington, Utah. This event featured 36 prospects within the organization from the 2025 - 2028 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the players in attendance.

FASTBALL VELOCITY (MAX)

Max Fastball Velocity: This metric calculates the speed of the pitch (fastball) as it’s released from the pitcher’s hand.

EXIT VELOCITY (MAX)

Exit Velocity - The speed of the ball off the bat, measured in MPH.

BATTED BALL DISTANCE (MAX)

Distance – This metric measures how far the ball traveled, or would travel if it was not obstructed, measured in feet.

BAT SPEED (AVG)

Bat Speed – The speed of the sweet spot of the bat at impact, measured in MPH. The sweet spot is measured 6 inches from the tip of the bat.

HAND SPEED (AVG)

Hand Speed – The speed of the handle of the bat just before impact, measured in MPH. The handle is measured 6 inches from the knob of the bat.
