The 2015 Overall Rankings have been updated with major changes, mainly due to the fact that the Prep Baseball Report’s coverage area has grown tremendously in the last year and many of the new states have been folded into the rankings.

Let's take a look into the players from the Commonwealth that cracked the Top 100 on our prestigious top 400 National Rankings.

nic enright, rhp, steward school (No. 10 Overall)

Nic Enright is a Virginia Tech commit who stands an athletic 6-foot-3. He throws from a high three-quarters slot and has a fast, long arm action. Enright has outstanding secondary stuff, with good feel for a sharp curve and late breaking slider, as well as, a late fading change-up.

evan sperling, rhp, grafton (no. 17 overall)

Evan Sperling is a Virginia commit that stands an imposing 6-foot-6 on the mound and throws from a low-three quarter slot.  He generates plus movement while creating good deception.  He has not sacrificed his velocity, which has been as high as 94 and usually sits 88-92. Sperling also has feel for his curveball and a change-up.

nathan trevillian, rhp, amherst county (no. 52 overall)

Liberty University has landed a gem with a very high ceiling in Nathan Trevillian, who stands a lanky 6-foot-3, 160-pounds. Trevillian throws from a high three-quarters slot and has a loose, fast arm that already generates easy high 80s velocity that has been as high as 91. His change-up has good tail and he currently throws a slurvy breaking ball.

chase illig, catcher/1b, img academy (fl) (no. 94 overall)

Chase Illig is a College of Charleston commit that is a switch-hitting catcher with power from both sides of the plate.  Illig has balance from both side of the plate and uses his size and leverage to backspin baseballs out of the park.  Behind the plate, Illig is a big target with soft hands.  He has above average arm strength to go with a quick release and good footwork.

logan harvey, catcher, douglas freeman (no. 96 overall)

Logan Harvey is a 6-foot, 175-pound, Wake Forest commit that is an outstanding receiver.  He has the ability to shut down the running game with his quickness and arm strength.  At the plate, he has a line drive stroke with the ability to hit for average.  Harvey has a compact swing with good bat speed and the ability to hit the ball gap-to-gap with backspin.

chesdin harrington, rhp, patrick henry (no. 100 overall)

Chesdin Harrington is a classic Virginia-bound righty, tall, athletic, and projectable. Harrington’s fastball has been up as high as 89 mph and he usually works in the mid-80s. He has good feel for his change-up and curveball and has a frame that suggests there is more velocity to come.

Tomorrow we will be taking a look at players from the Commonwealth that were slotted in the Overall Rankings from 101-250.  Stay tuned....
