For the next two weeks we will roll out our Preseason Power 25. Three staff members voted on their version of the thirty best teams in the Preseason Power 25, with a possibility of 90 total vote points for each team. We will release three teams per day for the first week and then move to two teams per day once we reach the Top 10 next week. Voting for preseason teams centers more around the depth of talent on that team, as well as where it stacks up within their region/area, as opposed to strictly predicting schedule outcomes.

Generally, larger schools and classifications have a greater depth of player talent on roster. However, once the season begins and records begin to take shape, the Power 25 will be adjusted as needed. In addition to that, we will debut our Private School Top 10 around April 1st and Small School Top 10 around mid-April.

#16: Bishop O'Connell

The Knights come in at the 16th spot in our Preseason Power 25. New leadership will bring a new look to the Bishop O’Connell Knights. Good news for Coach Berset is they return some really solid talent up the middle of the field, including catcher Jack Woda (East Carolina) and two-way star, Noah Haught (Richmond). Joining Haught on the mound should be junior right handers, Shota Fogus (College of Charleston) and Drew Markey. While the Knights did have some big losses on the offensive side, they still return some middle and top of the order pieces like Woda, Haught, and Truman Leckey (Eastern Conn. State). Chaz Walker is another name to know. The junior is a long and rangy outfielder that could see a significant role this season. Haught has the arm talent to lead O’Connell to a deep run in the WCAC and VISAA, but they will need to show added depth on the mound, as well as the ability to score runs on the premium arms of PVI and St. Johns.

Final Thoughts:

"The Knights have a talented pitching staff with names like Fogus, Haught, and Markey that can help them against top tier offenses, but they will need to find some more depth behind those three. They also graduated a lot of offensive production and those will be need to be filled if they want to compete for a title in the WCAC and VISAA ."
