As we prepare for the inaugural Commonwealth Classic tournament, our staff would like to highlight what to expect from Miller School in this tournament, as well as some of their potential top performers.

Tournament Schedule: April 1st @ 1:00 PM vs #1 Freedom-South Riding at Shepherd Stadium 
April 1st @ 4:00 PM vs TBD (Site: TBD), April 3rd (Opponent, Site, & Time TBD) 

The current #23 Miller School Mavericks have gotten off to a rocky start in 2023, but this is sometimes the case, as Coach Wagner likes to challenge the Miller School squad early in the year with tough competition. The one thing you know about MSA is every single year they are going to be tested and ready when it comes VISAA tournament time. To start their year they opened up with a tough slate in Florida versus high end competition, including perennial national power Stoneman Douglas. They have some youth across the board, but especially on the mound. The inexperience on the mound is always something to deal with early in the year, but will pay off in the long run. Since being back in Virginia, the Mavericks have battle their way to some solid victories, including a win over VISAA DIII power, Walsingham Academy. 

The Mavericks' schedule shapes up fairly well over the next few weeks where they could get on a little hot streak as they approach the Commonwealth Classic tournament.
