Sunday, the DC Prospect League continued its first season of competition at Fredericksburg Nationals Stadium. The league features four teams made up of top prospects from the 2021-2023 classes, with the purpose of making sure these players get a higher number of opportunities to be scouted than will be afforded them in the shortened and delayed 2021 VHSL season. 

Here are some quick notes on a few players who stood out, look for a full Scout Blog with full videos late in the week:

 

William Burgess LHP / OF / Georgetown Prep, MD / 2022

 

Jason Cheifetz RHP / OF / Westfield, VA / 2022

Cheifetz is a James Madison commit. In his first outing of the spring, he showed his full mix of pitches. Fastball was 82-85, touching 86. Change-up was 73-74, slider was also 73-74, and curveball was 69-70.

Casey Cook SS / RHP / Freedom (South Riding), VA / 2021

 

Bryce Dolby RHP / 1B / Independence , VA / 2022

Dolby is a Mississippi commit. He looked good again on the day, fastball sat 87-89, touching 90 once. Change-up was 76-78, showed a curveball at 76. easy arm action, ball explodes out of his hand.

Carson Estridge RHP / 1B / Battlefield , VA / 2022

 

Bryce Eldridge RHP / Madison, VA / 2023

 

Liam Golden RHP / West Springfield, VA / 2021

Golden is a Naval Academy commit. Fastball was 82-85, touching 86 from a low slow. Also showed a curveball at 72-73 with 10/4 break to it.

Jakob Foster RHP / 3B / Patriot, VA / 2023

 

Kerry Herndon-Brown LHP / Georgetown Prep, MD / 2022

 

Nathan Knowles RHP / OF / Yorktown, VA / 2021

Knowles is a William & Mary commit. Athletic frame with strength present and projection left. Fastball was 86-87. Showed a breaking ball with two different shapes, 11/5 at 71 and 12/6 at 67

Carter Newman SS / 2B / Woodbridge , VA / 2022

Newman is a Virginia Tech commit. Lanky athletic frame with a lot of projection left to it, has a short swing with some batspeed, hands are quick. Smooth fielder with quick feet and good actions, rangy defender at short.

Jack O'Connor RHP / 1B / Bishop O'Connell, VA / 2022

 

Jake Roberti RHP / 2B / West Springfield, VA / 2021

 

 

Griffin Stieg OF / RHP / McLean, VA / 2022

 

James Tallon LHP / OF / Yorktown, VA / 2022

 

Britt Yount RHP / Mountain View, VA / 2021

Yount is a George Mason commit. Fastball was 82-84, touching 85, showed a curveball with 10/4 break that was 68-70.
