Monday evening saw No. 24 Gonzaga travel to take on No. 16 Lake Braddock in an interstate matchup as part of the DC Baseball Classic. Gonzaga would jump out to an early lead with a pair of first inning home runs, but ultimately Lake Braddock's deep lineup was too much, picking up 10 hits on the way to an 11-5 win.

Lake Braddock was led by Ryan Cuadros, who went 3-for-4, with 2 runs scored, 4 RBI and a 3-run home run. Senior Bobby Leitzel (Marymount) added 2 hits and Sophomore Mike Weidinger had 3 RBI’s and a triple. On the mound, Junior Jay Cassady battled through 6 innings to gain the win and Junior Will Hellier pitched the 7th inning, allowing a hit and recorded 1 strikeout. Senior Lyle Miller-Green (George Mason) had a productive game as a lead-off hitter, going 1-for-1, 2 runs scored, RBI, and 2 walks.

Freshman shortstop, Noah Potholm started on the mound for Gonzaga, lasting 2 innings, with 6 hits allowed and 7 runs, but only 1 earned run. The game started off with a bang for visiting Gonzaga as lead-off hitter, freshman INF Nick Morabito, delivered the 2nd pitch of the game over the left field wall. A few batters later, Junior catcher Christian Ficca hit a home run to right, putting Gonzaga up 2-0. Sophomore Lucas Leclair was the only Gonzaga player with multiple hits. 2-for-3, run scored and an RBI.
