He hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, short stride on line, smooth load back to a slight wrap. Hips rotate completely with violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short and quick to the ball, slightly uphill swing with strength at contact and good extension through the ball, showed a pull preference with easy home run power that way and ability to work gap to gap with power as well, exit velocity was 96. Behind the plate, quick clean exchange, throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 78 and pop times 1.98-2.12. Showed some accuracy on his throws. Ran a 7.47 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot, longer loose quick arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands slightly closed with an occasional fall off finish. Fastball was 84-86, with some late hard run that has depth. Curveball had good armspeed and was 76-78 with late sharp downer break to it. Change-up was 72-74 good armspeed and run to it.

Behind the plate, quick clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 80 and pop times 1.91-2.01. Showed accuracy on his throws. Ran a 7.16 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, shorter loose quick arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are slightly uphill and closed, lands closed with a slight fall-off finish. Fastball was 85-88 with some sink to it. Curveball had good armspeed and was 75-77 with hard sharp 11-5 break.

Preseason All-State II

Hips rotate completely with violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Keeps hands inside, short and very quick to ball, level line drive swing path with strength at contact, gets some upward extension, exit velocity was 87. Behind the plate, flexible and comfortable deep in his crouch, shows sway and quiet hands, quick into the block. Quick clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters slot with a short arm action, velocity was 79 and pops were 1.98-2.09. Showed accuracy on his throw downs. Ran a 4.41 home to first.

Strong athletic frame at 6-foot-3, 200-pounds. At the plate Lubsen starts in a square athletic stance, small pickup and put down landing square, and hands load back to separation. Swing path has some uphill tilt and a high two hand finish. Displayed ability to hit for power to all fields as the ball jumped off really well. Exit velocity was 90 mph. Behind the plate is a solid catch and throw guy. Receives with strong hands, quick clean exchange on pops, and throws show plenty of carry. Arm action was short and threw from a three-quarter arm slot at 79 mph, which was the top catcher velocity. Pops ranged from 1.94-1.97 and were in line. Home-1st time was 4.21. Repeatable, low effort delivery. Higher leg lift, gathered over the rubber, and engages lower half getting down the mound landing slightly closed. Longer arm action and throws from a lower three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat 81-85 mph and played downhill at times. Breaking ball had more slider shape and feel with tight 11/5 action at 73-76 mph.
