The expanded usage of data, and the importance of it in regards to player development and player assessment is a legitimate, undeniable tool used by high school, college, and professional teams across the country. Today we break down some of the data from our recent  Preseason All-State workout. See which pitches stood out in regards to Trackman data.

Meier's Curveball: Averaged 73.4 mph on it with plus-spin, and really good feel for supination. Able to get 17.4” of sweep with -13.9” of IVB to create heavy drop.

Hirschfeld’s Curveball: Threw it at 73.6 mph with 13.5” of sweep and some drop. Has solid spin, up to 2,692 rpm. Threw it in the zone a ton.

Herzog’s Changeup: Had feel for it, and threw it in the zone to good locations with a good shape. Killed lift on it and was able to get depth while averaging 17.3” of HB. Threw one CH with an incredible shape; 2.2” of IVB and 20” of HB.

Beasley’s Slider: Has potential due to a good short-form shape, just needs to throw it harder. Had depth on it with just 0.7” of IVB, and got enough HB to create a tight SL shape with heavy gyro spin.
