On Tuesday, July 10, Hillcats Prime had their summer Scout Day at Falls Church High School and invited PBR VA/DC to take video and stats during the event. Many players had good days and we look forward to releasing our full analysis in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, here are a few players who stood out immediately to our staff:

David Giorgis C / OF / West Springfield , VA / 2019

Giorgis is still a very raw product for a 2019 with a ton of athleticism and upside. Pop times were 2.00-2.05 and he showed some arm strength at 77. Shared the top exit velocity at 89 while showing some batspeed and power potential, quick hands at the plate. Has some speed for a catcher with a 7.25 60 yard dash.

Todd Hartman LHP / OF / Thomas Jefferson S&T, VA / 2019

Hartman had a good day and is one of the more intriguing true 2-way players still available in the Class of 2019. Ran a 7.19 and showed some batspeed and doubles power potential from the left side of the plate with some arm strength in the outfield. Also sat 82-85 on the mound while showing three offspeed pitches that have a chance to be good for him.

Cameron Karicher SS / RHP / Falls Church, VA / 2019

Karicher showcased at three positions and is an athlete that could move around to where he is needed at the next level. His best pop time was 2.03 and he got up to 77 on his throw downs. Arm played up at short and on the mound he sat 82-84, touching 85 while showing two offspeed pitches.

Carson Mayfield RHP / C / Falls Church, VA / 2022

Mayfield has a lanky frame but as a rising freshman he has plenty of time to fill it out. He sat 73-75 on the mound and touched 77 with a fast arm and a lot of upside to add velocity as he gets stronger. Showed feel for a curve and a change-up, the curve has a chance to be swing and miss as he throws it harder and it sharpens. Showed some batspeed as well, Mayfield will be an interesting prospect to follow.

JP Ottariano OF / Paul VI , VA / 2019

Ottariano hits from the left side and has a pretty line drive swing with some gap power. Barreled the ball consistently and used the whole field. Still has projection left to him and has first to third speed, running a 7.09.
