Welcome to 2020 and the return of our Spring Forward series. While it may still be January, the high school season is just around the corner, with public school tryouts beginning in a little over a month. In February, we will begin our detailed season preview, including Region breakdowns, Power 25 reveal, and the Preseason All-PBR Team. In the meantime, we will begin gearing up for the season by highlighting some storylines that we are keeping our eyes on this spring in this series.

This week, we will be looking at some of the top pitchers in each region of our coverage area. While some of these players are top prospects, one doesn't have to throw 92 to be a dominant high school pitcher. Our focus in these stories will be the arms that we think have a chance to carry their teams as true aces this spring and put together a monster season. Some teams that have deep staffs have been omitted from this list because they might operate more by committee than leaning on a true ace.

As always, these are the pitchers that we think are likely to have big seasons, invariably someone that we leave off this list will have an outstanding season and we look forward to following those players' performances this spring.
