Saturday, two of the Stars Showcase 16U teams played a 9-inning scrimmage to prepare for Georgia. We were on site and got to see a bunch of uncommitted players. Here are our quick notes from Saturday, with a full Scout Blog including video to be posted later this week:

-Battlefield 2021 RHP Jackson Baird was 82-84, touched 86 once. Short outing, only threw about 7 pitches total in his inning. Easy arm action with some late life.

-Yorktown 2021 RHP Nathan Knowles was 83-85. Curveball was 72 and change-up was 68. Mature frame with a good arm action.

-Lake Braddock 2021 1B/LHP Andrew Schaeb was 79-80. Curveball was 69-71 and change-up was 75.

-Colonial Forge 2021 RHP Seth Tootle was 75-78, touching 79, with pronounced armside run. Curveball was 64-67.

-Centreville 2021 LHP Casey Bach was 80-82 and mostly just sat at 82. Ton of projection left. Curveball was 68-69 and fading change-up was 73-75.

-Lake Braddock 2021 1B/LHP Michael Weidinger was 81-83, touching 85 once time. Hard slider was 71-75.

-Freedom (South Riding) 2021 RHP Connor Kolarov was 82-84, mostly sitting at 84. Breaking ball was 72-73.

-Hylton 2021 SS/RHP Diego Barrett made some nice athletic plays at short and barreled the ball a few times at the plate as well, showing some bat speed. On the mound, he worked 82-86, touching 86 three times. Curveball was 69-72.

-Heritage (Leesburg) 2021 3B/RHP Grant Barberich showed some batspeed and strength through contact, barreling the ball a few times. Also moves well at third and has some arm strength across the infield.

-Millbrook 2021 OF Yogie Hartigan is athletic with a quick bat and a high motor.

-Highland 2021 C Garrett Pancione looked good behind the plate and threw well on a stolen base attempt, with a quick release and accurate strong arm.

-Westfield 2021 OF/LHP Nick Lottchea showed well at the plate, using the whole field and barreling balls consistently. Mature approach, kid can hit. On the mound was 75-78, curveball was 64-65 and change was 70.

-Oakton 2021 SS Nick Morgan has projection and is athletic. Bat speed is present as well.

-Gonzaga 2021 RHP Michael Casler has a lanky frame and was 80-81 with some life. Spun his curve well at 68.

-James Madison 2021 RHP Evan Blair was 77-80. Curveball was 67 and heavy fading change-up at 73.

-Mountain View 2021 RHP Britt Yount was 79-82, mostly sitting 82. Curveball was 59-63 and change-up was 76.

-Lake Braddock 2021 OF Ryan Cuadros showed some batspeed and his usual athleticism.
