This week, Prep Baseball Report is hosting the Junior Future Games alongside the Future Games, with both events taking place at LakePoint in Cartersville, Georgia. Like the Future Games, teams represent a region, with Team Mid-Atlantic being made up of players from Maryland, Delaware, DC, and Virginia.

Junior Future Games teams play in a four game pool play tournament, with the pool leaders advancing to a Championship round on Sunday. 2019 is the first year that Team Mid-Atlantic has teams in the Junior Future Games field, with a 14U team and a 13U team competing.

On Thursday, a two-hour lightning delay in the late afternoon caused some of the later games in the evening to be postponed in an effort to avoid playing games beyond 11 pm. Team Mid-Atlantic's 13U opener was one of the games postponed, and it will be made up Saturday night. 13U Mid-Atlantic will open play with a pair of games Friday morning.

14U Mid-Atlantic did get to play their game against Team Mississippi after the delay. A well-pitched game saw Team Mid-Atlantic get out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning, and carry that lead and a combined no-hitter into the sixth inning before a few errors and Mississippi's lone hit of the game led to three runs. Mississippi hung on to win with a final score of 3-1.

Here are some notes from Team Mid-Atlantic players who had strong days:
