Today we continue our analysis by position of the players who participated in the Virginia/DC Top Prospect Games on June 27. Hosted by Liberty University, over 50 players from across the state performed in front of the PBR scouting staff as well as colleges from around the region. Over the last few weeks we have broken down the position players from the event. Today, we take a look at the second half of the pitchers who took part in the event.

Brody Mack LHP 2019 Potomac
Mack is 5-11 with an athletic frame that he can still add weight to as he gets stronger, he has a drop and drive delivery with a high three-quarters arm slot. Stabs down to a long arm action on the backside that shortens up, quick arm, generates velocity with normal effort. Shoulders are uphill and on line, lands on line and finishes in an athletic position. Fastball was 74-76 and has plane as well as a bit of late run. Change-up has some armspeed and run to it, sitting 68-69. Curveball had some armspeed and sharp 2/8 break running 60-64.

Austin Martin RHP 2018 Rustburg
Martin is 6-1 and has an athletic frame, throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot, longer arm action and normal effort, drop and drive delivery. Shoulders are on line and slightly uphill, lands slightly closed, athletic finish. Fastball has some downward plane to it, was 75-77. Curveball had gradual 11/5 break and some armspeed, pitch ran 60-64.

Ryan Mason RHP 2018 Chincoteague
Mason is 5-10 with an athletic frame and a strong lower half and throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a drop and drive delivery. Short, quick arm action, throws with some effort. Shoulders closed and slightly uphill, lands closed and falls off a bit at finish. Fastball was 82-85 with some downward plane and late run to it. Curveball was 74-75 with some armspeed and late 11/5 break to it. Showed change-up in warmups, threw it with some armspeed and fading action.

Jacob Miller-Bopp RHP 2021 Walsingham Academy
Miller-Bopp is 5-4 and has an athletic frame, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a drop and drive delivery. Short arm action with normal effort. Shoulders are level and closed, lands open with an athletic finish. Fastball was 70-72 with some boring action to it. Curveball was 59-62 with sharp 11/5 break and some armspeed.

Joseph O’Brien LHP 2019 York
O’Brien is 6-3 with a lanky athletic frame, he throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a drop and drive delivery. Shorter arm action that is free, throws with some effort. Shoulders are uphill and on line, lands square, falls off and recoils after finish. Fastball was 74-75, touching 76 with some angle and late run. Curveball was thrown with some armspeed, had sharp 1/7 break at 63-67. Showed change-up in warmups that had some armspeed and heavy fade.

Henry Pavco-Giaccia RHP 2019 Bullis (MD)
Pavco-Giaccia is 6-2 with a lankier athletic frame that is projectable, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, longer loose arm action. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands square with a slight fall off finish. Fastball was 83-85, touched 86, with angle and some late run to it. Curveball was 71-74 with good armspeed and late hard 11/5 break. Change-up was 70-73 with sinking action and some armspeed.

Scott Reid RHP 2018 Albemarle
Reid is 6-5 and has a lankier athletic frame, he throws from a low three-quarters arm slot. Short, loose arm action and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are on line and slightly uphill, lands slightly open with some recoil to his finish. Fastball was 80-82, touching 83 with late run. Curveball had gradual 12/6 break and some armspeed, running 64-68. Change-up had late sink and some armspeed, sitting 69-70.

Zach Stanko RHP 2019 Walsingham Academy
Stanko is 6-1 and has a lankier athletic frame, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a longer free arm action and normal effort. Fastball was 81-83 with downward plane and late run to it. Curveball had gradual 11/5 break and some armspeed, 70-72. Change-up had some fade, was 67-68.

Garrett Thomas RHP 2018 Patriot
Thomas is 5-9 with a lankier athletic frame, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a smooth delivery. Arm action is shorter and free, normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders uphill and closed, lands square with an athletic finish and some recoil. Fastball was 75-77 with some downward plane and late run. Curveball had sharp 11/5 break and some armspeed, running 64-66. Showed a change-up in warmups that had some armspeed and sink to it.

Zach Thomas RHP 2018 Eastern View
Thomas is 6-3 with a lanky projectable frame, throws from a three-quarters arm slot. Longer loose arm action that is quick, some effort to his delivery. Shoulders uphill and slightly closed, lands open with an athletic finish. Fastball was 81-83, touching 84 with downward plane and a bit of late sink. Curveball was 72-73 with late 11/5 break and good armspeed.

Aidan Willard RHP 2019 Briar Woods
Willard is 5-11 and has a lankier athletic frame, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, longer arm action that is free, throws with normal effort. Shoulders uphill and closed, lands slightly closed, falls off after finish. Fastball was 77-78 with plane and a bit of sink. Change-up was 68 with some armspeed and sinking action. Curveball was 66-70 with armspeed and late 11/5 break.
