Trackman Reports: VA/DC State Games

On Sunday, October 25, over 190 players from all corners of the Commonwealth and DC descended on Lynchburg to take part in our inaugural VA/DC State Games. Games and workouts were held at two sites, City Stadium and Liberty University. During the event we compiled swing and pitching metrics from each player using our Trackman sensors. Below are some players who stood out on Trackman.

Top Fastball Spin Rate
The average spin rate on a Major League fastball is 2250-2350 RPMs. MLB fastballs with high spin tend to be thrown up in the zone because they appear to rise to hitters, causing the hitter to swing under them. Heavy sink fastballs have spin rates below 1800 and are thrown down in the zone to take advantage of that.
