Scouting Report

Underclass Games 6/20/18

Polymeropoulos is 5-7 with an athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from an upright balanced stance, short stride on line, short smooth load back, quiet relaxed rhythm to his swing. Hips rotate completely and are explosive, maintains good balance during swing. Short to ball, level line drive swing, gets some uphill extension to pull side, showed good approach working gap to gap, has some gap power potential, exit velocity was 82. Behind the plate, quick clean release, short arm action from a high three-quarters arm slot, some accuracy on throws, catcher velocity was 72, pop times were 2.00-2.09.

11.5.17:  Polymeropoulos is 5-7 with an athletic frame, he hits from the right side from an athletic stance. Leg kick stride on line, smooth load back, some rhythm to his swing. Explosive lower half with some balance to swing. Short to ball, uphill swing path with extension through the ball, showed good approach working gap to gap, exit velocity was 82. Behind the plate, quick exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short arm action that is quick, catcher velocity was 73. Good wide base receiving, shows ability to sway behind pitches, gets into block quickly and can move laterally. Ran a 7.21 60 yard dash.

6.28.17:  5-foot-6,145-pound, smaller athletic frame, shoulders are rounded, hands have strength to them, has room to add muscle and mass on. A right-handed hitting catcher, top tool is his overall athletic ability, and running speed, clocked at 7.0 flat in the sixty-yard dash, well above average for his age and as a catcher. The hands are very loose, set above shoulder height, has some pre pitch movement with them. The front foot starts open, uses a controlled leg kick for timing, gets and keeps weight back, showed to be on time. The swing is level across his chest, approach is more middle to pull side. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 77 mph, needs to add strength, will happen over time. The batting rounds had good hard contact to them. Defensively, looks to be very sound mechanically behind the plate, is flexible, works low to the ground, with feet and hands working nicely together in the transfer. The arm action has average length to it, works out of a higher slot, had pop times of 2.25-2.39. Strength is a must, a regimented throwing proper will cut pop time down. Good looking young catcher, everything is sound and shows to have above average athleticism.

Sixty-Yard:7.0

Exit Velocity: 77 mph
