Here are ten new faces that are making their debut into the Virginia/DC 2026 rankings.

2026 New Faces

Connor Quilll 3B / SS / Tuscarora , VA / 2026

Quill exploded on the recruiting scene after a pair of winter events where he showed a smooth swing from the left side. It was easy to see that it had a chance to play in game and he showed our staff that this spring. Not long after, Quill's recruitment skyrocketed and he is now a Virginia Tech Hokie. Plays third base at Tuscarora and the defensive profile still has time to take shape. Offensive value with solid bat to ball and a long lanky frame that projects.

Colin Whidbee OF / Glen Allen, VA / 2026

Whidbee has been a standout this spring in our handful of looks. Long and lean with fairly narrow hips and higher waist. Is made up how a centerfielder should look. Easy mover with the footspeed and range to stay in center. Starting in centerfield as a freshman, at a perennial power in Glen Allen, is not an easy thing to do and he has taken to it well. Offense still has strides to make, but it is easy to see the long term value and upside for this young athlete.

Lawson Mcleod RHP / 3B / Trinity Episcopal, VA / 2026

McLeod was a Junior Future Games participant this past summer where he showed the ability to fill the zone and get outs. Since that time the body continues to grow and the velo has grown with it. Was up to 87 last weekend at our summer kickoff event. Long projectable frame at 6-foot-4 and plenty of room to add some strength. The arm has loosened up since the summer and has some arm speed through release. The body and makeup has some starter profile intrigue for now and will continue to grow as he adds polish to the secondary.

Aaron Ritenour OF / Gainesville, VA / 2026

Projectable 6-foot-3 left-handed bat with some power potential in the swing. Gains ground into the swing and has a level path with some adjustability. Had a solid year for Gainesville and shows some offensive potential with some corner outfield profile long term.

Ben Drinkwine OF / 3B / Lightridge, VA / 2026

Drinkwine is listed at 6-foot-1, 190-pounds and is every bit of his listed frame. Physical right handed bat with corner outfield/first base profile. Ability to produce loud contact with a heavy barrel. Raw power that has shown flashes of playing in game.

Brooks Bowman C / Turner Ashby, VA / 2026

Active defender, above average receiver for class, and has some leadership qualities behind the plate. Accurate to the bag with average arm strength that will get better as he matures. Very aggressive approach at the plate and is a contact bat for now that will continue to progress as he adds strength and gains experience.

Jayden Davis OF / RHP / Amherst County, VA / 2026

We first got a chance to see Davis this winter and we left impressed. Switch hitter, above average arm in the outfield for his class, and two-way potential. The left handed swing shows more power and the right handed swing shows more control and better bat to ball. Corner outfield profile with the arm to play right. Offense has a chance to play. He has gained a wealth of experience with Amherst this spring and the quality of arms he has seen will benefit him long term.

William Haynie 3B / SS / Atlee, VA / 2026

Our staff took notice of this Atlee shortstop at the beginning of April. Defensive first profile for now with the actions and arm to stick at shortstop. Athletic, light on his feet, and above average arm for his class. Contact bat right now and still has room to grow offensively, but the defensive ability puts him ahead of a lot of other middle infielders in this class right now.

Drew Christine LHP / OF / St. John's, VA / 2026

Lanky 6-foot frame with room to fill. While he showed some feel for the barrel at the plate, on the mound is where he shows the best in terms of future value. Long whippy arm that is fairly easy and works. Showed some feel for the zone with three pitches and averaged 80.3 mph with the fastball. Going to be one to watch develop at St. John's.

Jack Woda C / SS / Bishop OConnell , VA / 2026

Woda is one of the better defensive catchers in this class. Solid receiver, is active behind the plate, and a quick exchange and release with an accurate arm. The arm strength is average, but it will be fine. He will continue to progress as he matures and adds strength. The offense is secondary right now. More gap to gap with some slight uphill tilt to the swing and controlled intent. Will be one to follow going forward.
