Outlook

The defending 4C Region Champs have a nice contingent of returners from last season and look primed to again contend for a 4C championship and State title in 2019. Leading the way for the Falcons are arms who again will be key pieces to the season just like the previous year. 2019 RHP Lane Pearson looks like he will again anchor the pitching rotation with two way talent  OF/LHP Carson McCusker. Both came off all-region seasons in 2018 and will form a nice 1-2 punch atop the staff. Adding to the rotation is 2019 LHP Harrison Whitt, who transferred in this year and should instantly add some depth to the rotation and be a key arm this spring. 2020 RHP James Swart adds two way talent for the Falcon and should see time on the mound when not playing in the infield. 2020's Clay Goff and Bobby Slater should also see time on the mound for the Falcons. a

Offensively it is going to be tough to replace what was lost out of 1st Team All-PBR performer SS Blaze O'Saben, who was the region player of the year and defensive player of the year.  Thought they might not have one single player replicate what O'Saben did, they should have a handful of players who could hopefully improve on their seasons to make up for him. McCusker should lead the way offensively as one of the top returners along with Nate Winebarger (pictured, right). Swart, and Goff will also be contributors of the offensive end once again this spring for the falcons. Slater should be a new face to contribute on the offensive end while keep an eye out for 2021 C Nate Dulevitz who could be a nice contributor in his first spring on varsity.

The Falcons look poised to again play some late postseason baseball is what looks like an extremely competitive Class 4 in the VHSL. We think they have the pieces to get there and therefore come in at No. 19 in our Preseason Power25.
