Top 10 Movement Breakdown:

St. Christopher's School moves to the #1 spot after convincing wins over then #2 Highland and #1 Miller School. The biggest question mark for the Saints, like some others, was that there were so many new faces in the lineup and especially on the mound that have never played and/or contributed on the varsity level. But the ability of their staff to throw strikes, mix it up, and keep the pressure on the opposing offense has really stood out. Griffin O'Ferrall (UVA) and Carter Schmitt (Randolph-Macon) have given the offense a big time boost with their ability to get on and drive in runners when they are on.

Now #2 Miller School and #4 Highland School had small bumps in the road with the previously discussed Saints, but both have the offensive firepower and the arms to beat any team on any day.

#6 Nansemond-Suffolk and #5 Walsingham played this week. Nansemond-Suffolk jumped up early on the Trojans of Walsingham, but Walsingham would take a one run lead in the fourth. Nansemond-Suffolk rallied for one in the fifth and two in the seventh to take this early season matchup over the Trojans.

#10 Atlantic Shores Christian climbs into the ranks after getting three wins this week, one being over previously ranked Benedictine. The Seahawks put up forty-eight runs in three games and those three wins moves their record to 7-2, with the only two losses being to #4 Highland School.

Dropping Out:

Benedictine drops from a previous ranking of #7. The Cadets are without their best arm and bat in Virginia commit Jay Woolfolk. That leaves the Cadets lacking experience and a shut down arm on the mound. When Woolfolk comes back expect some things to change with the Cadets.
