Welcome to the VA/DC Scoreboard. This year we will run our scoreboards on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We will always be sure to include scores involving Power 25 teams, a few recaps, and will strive to get as many of the rest of the scores from the Commonwealth and the District as well.

Monday March 13th

#2 Highland 0, #3 Gonzaga 3
Junior left-hander Jack Feehery was immaculate for the Gonzaga Eagles. Worked four innings of one hit ball and tallied eight strikeouts along the way. It wasn't until the bottom of the fourth that Gonzaga would score. The Eagles would bring home two on a Bryson Moore (UVA) single. They would tack on one more run with a Bryce Gaines single into right field in the bottom of the sixth. In the seventh the Hawks would load the bases, but Ethan Van Sice would get a strikeout and fly ball to end it and leave the tying run at first base.

Mason Sproat got the win with 2.1 innings pitched and tallied four strikeouts, while Sullivan came in for a strong 3.2 innings of relief. Multi-hit games from James Nunnallee (UVA) and Jacob Park helped propel the Bolts to a 10-0 opening night win.

Tuesday March 14th

#16 Greenbrier Christian 8, Great Bridge 7
It took nine innings for the #16 Gators to pull off the win over a scrappy Great Bridge team. The Gators scored in seven of the nine innings, while Great Bridge had a big fifth inning where they scored four runs to take a lead. Bubba Sawyer (UVA) and Mikey Urbaniak paced the offense, tallying a combine seven hits and scoring five runs. Freshman Casey Cuddyer led the Wildcat offense in his varsity debut. The freshman had three hits, one walk, and three RBI on the day.
