Monday night saw the return from Spring Break of many of the Northern Virginia schools and the in the Concorde District a traditional rivalry game marked the return to action as Oakton traveled to Chantilly. Both teams had their top-performing arms of the season so far lined up, Oakton going with senior lefty Tanner Vislay and Chantilly with sophomore lefty Luke Tilley.

Oakton scored in the first, with Jacob Bradshaw singling up the middle and coming around to score on a 2-out RBI from Alex Rose. Oakton tacked on a second run in the second to make it a 2-0 lead. Both Vislay and Tilley did a good job of minimizing damage early as both had to work around multiple baserunners in multiple innings. Vislay ended up being the story of the game, going 6 scoreless innings, allowing just 3 hits, and striking out 10. The Cougars would add an insurance run on a Robbie Lavey (George Washington) SAC fly late in the game, and senior Oakton lefty Alex Crudder (Lynchburg) struck out the side in order in the seventh for the save and to lock down a 3-0 win for Oakton.

Alex Caywood RHP / SS / Chantilly, VA / 2025

Caywood has an athletic frame with strength present in his lower half. Clean actions at short, made a good play on a deflected slow roller, shows average to slightly more present arm strength with potential to add more. Hits from the left side, slightly uphill path, showed a pull approach, line drive hitter now with a chance to develop power. Keeps hands back and shows ability to adjust when off balance to get barrel on ball.
