We take a look at video and notes on over twenty five players from four games in the eastern region and central region.

Landstown

Trey Campos OF / RHP / Landstown , VA / 2025

Having seen Campos twice so far this year, the athleticism and tools are hard to miss. Athletic makeup with lean strength and some two-way potential. The arm has maybe been the standout piece this spring, but Campos can go get it in center. Arm strength, length, and speed to stay. Has some pop in the bat, but will need to continue to grow in bat to ball and zone discipline. Legitimate two way sophomore to keep an eye on as we approach the summer.

Kyle Flora OF / 2B / Landstown, VA / 2025

The Landstown outfielder has one of the better hit tools in the 757 and in the state for the '25 class. Accurate barrel, hand eye coordination, and a feel for timing. Has a leg lift and will hang in it if needed, but doesn't drift into it and gets it down on time. Level path and length in the hitting zone creating some adjustability in the swing. Compact frame with narrow, sloped shoulders. Average to slightly above average runner.

Jackson Okonkwo 3B / RHP / Landstown , VA / 2025

Square and balanced stance for the 6-foot-4 sophomore. Physical athlete with corner/corner projection. Bat has some length in the zone and power potential at the plate. The combination of size and athleticism will make him an interesting follow this summer.

Cam Tellefsen 3B / 1B / Landstown, VA / 2025

Listed at 6-foot-3 and stands every bit of it. Thin frame and should add good strength and weight, as the frame looks like it will hold it well. Had two flyouts to center in his first two at bats, with the second one being a very loud barrel that got ran down. The swing has some length and can get a little long at times, but when he is on time there is natural loft and raw power in the swing.

Princess Anne

Walter Clevenger RHP / 1B / Princess Anne, VA / 2025

6-foot-4, 200-pound right hander. Low effort delivery and works from a low three-quarter arm slot. Lands closed down the mound and pulls across the fastball, still showing the ability to get some arm side run while working to the glove side. Stays inside of the arm side fastball with more gradual fade/boring action. The fastball sat 81-84 in my limited look. Slider was 74 with lower spin efficiency and more sweeping action. Young features and plenty of ceiling left.

Matthew Metheny SS / 3B / Princess Anne, VA / 2025

Metheny has put together a strong spring thus far. Athletic infielder and has solid actions at shortstop with above average arm strength across the infield. Taller, narrow setup at the plate. Bigger leg lift and tends to hang/drift into the landing. The drift into the stride created some inconsistency with timing. Short level path swing through the zone and shows above average hand speed.

Western Branch

Logan Adams 3B / 2B / Western Branch, VA / 2025

Athletic 5-foot-11, 185-pound frame. Square and balanced at the plate. Small lift to stride early in counts and will shorten the stride a bit and get simpler once in two strike counts. Level path with gap to gap tendencies in the swing. Does not get cheated early in counts and will get more compact and adjust as the count gets deeper. Solid barrel skills when the swing is more compact and he stays within himself. Sound defender at third with average arm strength. Second and third base defensive profile long term and it is an offense first makeup.

Nic Poole OF / Western Branch, VA / 2023

Poole really looks the part. Moves well in center and showed some added arm strength since last spring. Left handed bat with the ability to find the barrel early and late in counts. Multiple hits, including a stinging line drive in his second at bat. Good get for JMU with an offense first type of makeup with above average defensive ability.

Payton Tone 1B / RHP / Western Branch , VA / 2024

Tone came in to close it out in the seventh and made pretty quick work. Got two flyouts and a strikeout to end the game. The fastball was 84-86 and tended to work to the glove side. Has continued to fill out the 6-foot-1 frame and has shown offensive upside as well from the left side of the plate.

Jacob Wright CF / OF / Western Branch, VA / 2024

Leadoff hitter and left fielder for the Bruins. Versatile, contact bat with some doubles power gap to gap. Compact frame for the left handed bat and showed solid bat to ball skills.

Joshua Wright SS / 2B / Western Branch, VA / 2024

Compact frame at 5-foot-7, 150-pounds. In pregame the Bruins' shortstop showed active feet and set solid angles on the throw. Average arm strength and more second base profile at the next level. In game he had a a miscue or two in the middle innings that came more from settling for position, instead of continuing to work through the ball like he showed in pregame. Contact bat that can do some different things at the plate. Plays hard and battles at bats.

Great Bridge

Casey Cuddyer SS / Great Bridge, VA / 2026

Cuddyer is listed at 5-foot-10, 135-pounds. Looks a bit taller, but mostly because of his longer, lanky frame. Body projects and should fill out well. The freshman third baseman has had good flashes this spring. Looks fairly comfortable in the box as a freshman and has shown some bat to ball skill. Walked in his first at bat after working a count, singled up the middle in his second at bat, then grounded out and flew out in his final two at bats. Average arm strength at third, but will obviously get better with added strength and maturity. Solid skillset for a freshman, with the physical makeup and projection leave plenty of ceiling in his future.

Dawson Newman LHP / OF / Great Bridge , VA / 2024

Newman had a solid game, although his stat line doesn't necessarily show it. Solid bat to ball, reached twice via error, and had a lineout and flyball. Balanced at the plate, works linear into the swing, and a flatter path to contact. Tends to lose connection on the backside and more line drive to middle and backside of the field. Played right field for the Wildcats and made a ridiculous play in the top of the fourth. Went back on a ball and jumped against the fence robbing a sure extra base hit, or potentially more. Has a chance to contribute in corner outfield, as well as the value he provides on the mound.

Jackson Reed

Quinn Lindblom RHP / 3B / Woodrow Wilson, VA / 2024

Jackson Loomis SS / RHP / Jackson-Reed, VA / 2025
