VA/MD State Games: 2025 Breakdown

In early November, over 140 players from Virginia, DC, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina descended on War Memorial Stadium in Hampton, Virginia to take part in the 2021 VA/MD State Games. We conclude our detailed breakdown of the event with the 2025s.

 

Logan Adams 2B / OF / Western Branch, VA / 2025

5-foot-10, 155-pound solid frame. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.34. Starts in an athletic stance with a controlled load, then uses a leg kick. Bat speed is flashed, has a level swing plane and level high finish. Found some barrels with loud contact. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Confident during batting practice, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 85 mph. (69.4 mph bat speed average). (21.4 mph hand speed average). Solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 69 mph; shows consistent hands, a clean exchange, and rhythmic feet. Movements laterally were average. Using a longer arm action, showed consistent accuracy to the base from a high ¾ slot.

Aiden Bonds C / 3B / Kent Island, MD / 2025

5-foot-8, 170-pound solid sturdy build. During batting practice, Bonds clocked an exit velocity of 82 mph. (56.1 mph bat speed average). (17.0 mph hand speed average). Began in an open balanced stance with a rhythmic controlled load, then used a toe tap stride. Has a long level swing plane, developing bat speed and high finish. Found some barrels with loud contact. Fly ball aggressive approach. Behind the plate, throw downs to second topped out at 62 mph; has consistent developing hands, fluid in control feet, and a clean transfer. recorded pop times of 2.35-2.47. Staggered calm setup with average flexibility. Decent accuracy to the bag, used a short arm action with an-over-the-top slot. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 8.5.

Walton Bondurant SS / 3B / Smithfield, VA / 2025

5-foot-8, 10-pound lean proportional build. Smooth and fluid at the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 77 mph. (62.5 mph bat speed average). (19.3 mph hand speed average). Began in a tall, balanced stance with a controlled load, then used a short toe tap stride. Had a short, inside out swing plane, average efficient bats speed and a balanced finish. In his round he found some barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the infield, his best throw was registered at 80 mph; has a clean exchange, sure consistent hands, and athletic fluid feet. Laterally, movements were developming and fielded the ball out front. Used a 3/4 slot with a long arm action while showing decent accuracy to the bag. 6-time of 7.35 at the event. 

Cole Caffall OF / 2B / Midlothian, VA / 2025

5-foot-7, 150-pound solid proportional build. Projectable in the box, Caffall's best exit velocity was 79 mph. (55.8 mph bat speed average). (18.6 mph hand speed average). Started in an athletic pre-loaded stance with a quick load, then used a short quick stride. Has a short level swing plane, efficient bat speed and high balanced finish. Found a few barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. From the outfield, his best throws to the bases were registered at 78 mph; shows a clean quick exchange, consistent quick feet, and sure hands. Had a consistent short arm action and uninterrupted slot with consistent accuracy to the base. Clocked a time of 7.28 in the 60-yard dash. 

Tucker Cahoon OF / 1B / Homeschool, VA / 2025

6-foot-2, 176-pound lanky projectable build. Projectable in the box, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 88 mph. (65.4 mph bat speed average). (20.3 mph hand speed average). Begins in an active balanced stance with a controlled load, then uses a short toe tap stride. Bat speed was quick efficient, displayed a short level swing plane and balanced finish. Through the round he found some barrels with loud contact. Aggressive up the middle approach. Fluid in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 72 mph; had a fluid natural exchange, athletic rhythmic footwork, and soft consistent hands. Showed a longer arm action and a ¾ slot with decent accuracy to the base. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.51.

Trey Campos OF / RHP / Landstown , VA / 2025

5-foot-10, 150-pound lean athletic build. Capable projectable during batting practice, Campos best exit velocity was 84 mph. (73.0 mph bat speed average). (21.6 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced active stance with a rhythmic controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Has quick efficient bat speed, short simple swing plane and high balanced finish. He barreled up some balls with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Projectable from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 81 mph; shows a clean fluid exchange, consistent hands, and smooth athletic feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a compact quick arm action and a ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.0.

Nicholas Fisher RHP / OF / SSSAS, VA / 2025

6-foot-2, 170-pound long lanky build. Projectable at the plate, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 82 mph. (62.1 mph bat speed average). (17.0 mph hand speed average). Began in a tall open stance with a rhythmic load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed was developing, showed a short an inside-out swing plane and high finish. He found some barrels in his rounds. Gap to gap approach. Projectable in the outfield, his best throws to the infield topped out at 75 mph; had consistent hands, in control footwork, and a natural exchange. Laterally, movements were developing and fielded the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a quick compact arm action and a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.51.

 

Ross Horne C / OF / Atlantic Shores Christian School , VA / 2025

5-foot-10, 155-pound projectable athletic build. Athletic projectable during batting practice, Horne recorded an exit velocity of 84 mph. (64.4 mph bat speed average). (21.9 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced wide stance with a compact load, then used a short stride. Bat speed is raw developing, shows a short simple swing plane and high finish. Found lots of barrels with loud contact. Aggressive approach. While catching, he made throws to second at velocities up to 67 mph; had twitchy sure hands, smooth in control footwork, and a quick fluid transfer. recorded a pop time of 2.13-2.27. Athletic quiet setup with a lot of flexibility. Showed consistent accuracy to the bag with a ¾ slot and a short very quick arm action. Recorded a 60 time of 7.24 at the event.
