Class 1

Lancaster vs. PH-Glade

 

The first  1A state semifinal game from Calfee Park featured the Lancaster Red Devils and the Patrick Henry Rebels. The Rebels struck early with one run in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. It was a pitchers duel until the bottom of the fourth inning with a run of their own courtesy of a sacrifice fly from Adam Wilmore. The score remained at one through six complete innings of play. Although the Red Devils broke the tie with a pair of doubles from Benny Walker and Spencer Crittenden. The Red Devils held off the the Rebels in the bottom half of the inning to win 3-1.

The Red Devils advance to the 1A State Championship game Friday. They will take on the Auburn Eagles at 9 a.m. at Calfee Park.

 

Riverheads vs. Auburn

The second 1A State semifinal game from Calfee Park featured the Riverheads Gladiators and the Auburn Eagles. The Auburn Eagles cracked the score column first in the bottom of the second on a one-out rbi double by Parker Hale. The Eagles maintained a 1-0 until the Gladiators scored one run in the top of the fifth with a sacrifice fly from Michael Robertson to tie it at one. The Gladiators added two more runs in the top of the sixth with a two rbi single by Adam Painter. The Eagles came from behind in the bottom of the seventh inning by putting up three runs of their own to defeat the Gladiators 4-3

 

The Eagles advance to the 1A State Championship game Friday. They will take on the Lancaster Red Devils at 9 a.m. at Calfee Park.

Class 2

Page County vs. Lebanon

The first 2A State Semifinal game featured the Paige County Panthers and the Lebanon Pioneers. The Panthers scored first with an rbi single in top of the second inning by Chase Combs. The Pioneers responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the second on an rbi single from Casey White. The Pioneers offense  continued to pile it on throughout the ball game. The Pioneers went on to defeat the Panthers by a final of 11-1.

The Pioneers advance to the 2A State Championship game Friday. They will take on the Chatham Cavaliers at 12 p.m. at Calfee Park.

Stuart’s Draft vs. Chatham

The second 2A State Semifinal game featured the Stuarts Draft Cougars and the Chatham Cavaliers. The Cougars and Cavaliers were in a pitchers duel the first two innings of the game. The Cougars struck first in the top of the third inning with one run. The Cavaliers countered in the bottom half of the inning with four runs of their own. From there on out it was a slugfest between the two teams. The two teams combined for 18 runs in the contest. The thrilling game ended in a 11-7 victory for Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers advance to the 2A State Championship game Friday. They will take on the Lebanon Pioneers at 12 p.m. at Calfee Park.
