Grassfield 1, Ocean Lakes 0
Steven Ritchie threw a 2-hit shutout with 6 strikeouts and Bryce Lane drove in the game's lone run.

Region 5D Semifinals

Mountain View 15, Stafford 5
Cameron Murray (Western Carolina) and Bode Lindauer (King) had home runs for the Wildcats, Lindauer had 6 RBIs while going 3-5 with his bomb.

Albemarle 4, North Stafford 3
Will Coleman was 2-3 with a 2B and picked up the win with 4.1 innings of relief, allowing 2 R, 4 H, with 4 K. Adam Shantz was 2-2 with 3 RBI and Hunter Shifflett was 2-3 with an RBI. AJ Labrusciano was 2-4 with an RBI for North Stafford.

 

 

Region 4A Semifinals

Menchville 3, Great Bridge 2
The Monarchs scored 2 in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead. Zach Davis threw a complete game, allowing 2 R, 6 H, 4 K while also going 1-3 with a BB and 2 RBI. Norman Jackson had a home run and was 2-3 in the loss.

 

Region 4D Semifinals

Jefferson Forest 6, No. 16 Amherst County 4
A 5-run 2nd inning powered the Cavaliers to the win in the third meeting between the two. Domenic Rowlands (King) was 2-3 with a HR and an RBI and went 4.1 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 8 K as the starting pitcher. Peyton Smith was also 2-3 with a BB for JF. Freshman Dalton Wentz was good in relief for Amherst, going 5 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 8 K and Jonah Cunningham was 2-4 with 3 RBI.

Halifax County 4, Pulaski County 0
Jaxon Lloyd (VMI) threw a 2-hit shutout, striking out 9 for Halifax while also going 2-4 with a 2B at the plate. Gavin Colwell (Averett) was 2-4 with a HR and 2 RBI and Joshua Gunn and Kamron Turbeville each had multi-hit games as well. 

 

 

Region 2A Semifinals

Nandua 6, Randolph-Henry 2
Tyler Greene went 5.1 IP, 1 R, 5 H, 6 K, while also going 2-4 with 2 RBI in the win. Luke Parks and Everett Savage each had 2 hits in the win. 

Poquoson 18, Windsor 1
The Islanders scored 18 runs in the first two innings en route to the win.

 

Region 2B Semifinals

Page County 5, Madison County 0

Buckingham 3, Stonewall Jackson (Quicksburg) 1
Justin Gunter threw a complete game, allowing 4 H and striking out 4 in the win while also going 1-1 with a 2B, 2 RBI and a BB. Rocco Raynor was 1-3 with a 3B and Colby White was 1-2 with an RBI and a BB. Brayden Smith was 2-3 with an RBI for Stonewall.

 

 

Region 2C Quarterfinals

Appomattox 7, Fort Chiswell 5
The Raiders jumped out with four in the third and kept adding as Fort Chiswell put pressure on them, ultimately hanging on for the win. Camron Smith (Wake Tech CC) was 2-3 with a BB and an RBI, Jake Maner was 2-4 with a 2B and 3 RBI, and Carter Berry was 2-4 with an RBI for Appomattox. Eli Taylor was 2-2 with a 2B, 2 BB, and an RBI for Fort Chiswell.

Floyd County 6, Radford 5
This one had a wild finish as Floyd scored 3 in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-1 lead. Radford scored 4 in the top of the seventh to go up 5-3. Then Floyd scored 3 more in the bottom of the seventh and walked it off on a squeeze off the bat of Mitchell Thompson. Emery Chaffin was 2-3 with 2 RBIs, a 2B, and the game-tying hit in the seventh. Wyatt Chaffin was 2-4 with a 2B. Nate Wesley was 2-3 with 2 HR, 3 RBI, and a walk for Radford.

Glenvar 8,  Dan River 0
Ryan Butler (Liberty) went 6.2 scoreless innings, allowing just 2 H with 8 K in the win while also going 3-4 at the plate with an RBI. Clay Caldwell was 2-3 with a 2B, Carson Osbourne was 3-3, and Nathan Richardson was 2-4 with 2 RBI. Dylan Howerton was 2-3 for the Wildcats.

No. 8 Chatham 7, Nelson County 3
Christian Lancaster (Hampden-Sydney) went 2-3 with a BB, 2B, HR and 3 RBI. Matt Arnold (Hampden-Sydney) was 2-4 with a 2B and 3 RBI.
