Virginia/DC Insider: The Top Pitching Prospects from the 2017 Top Prospect Games

As our Fall Open ID Series, Unsigned Senior Games, and the Fall Top Prospect Games at James Madison University approach, here is a look at some of the pitching prospects that stood above the rest at July’s 2017 Top Prospect Games at English Field on the campus of Virginia Tech

Pitching prospects that stood out (listed alphabetically):

Stephen Gerade, RHP/1B, TC Williams, 2017
Gerade has an athletic frame with a strong lower half and throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a smooth drop and drive delivery. Gerade’s fastball had late, heavy sink to it and ran 79-81. He also threw a late, tight, 10/4 slider with full armspeed that ran 73-74. He commanded both pitches very well. Gerade’s slider is a swing-and-miss pitch and will be very tough on hitters at the next level.....
