With a new rankings update and expansion, comes plenty of new faces. This time the VA/DC 2027 class expands by forty spots and has some big movement throughout the Top 100. Today we take a look at ten newcomers that make their way into this 2027 class rankings.
2027 Rankings Newcomers
Dylan Bowman OF / LHP / NEW KENT HIGH, VA / 2027High energy, high effort left hander that competes in the zone. Saw him in the spring and the first thing that jumped out was his ability to PITCH. He was a freshman throwing versus a solid Poquoson lineup and really had control of the game from start to finish. Once again, we saw Bowman dominate an outing this summer. Higher slot, low 80's arm, changes tempo, and challenges. Would imagine he has a good chance to be a frontline arm for New Kent this spring.

Wright Broadhead 3B / OF / Highland School, VA / 2027In line to be the next big name for the Hawks at Highland School. Can really turn the barrel and impact the baseball to the pull side. Advanced bat and hand speed, power potential, and slightly above average arm strength across. Footspeed will need to continue to make strides forward, but regardless it is a corner infield profile now and future with the potential to be an impact bat.

Seth Carter RHP / OF / PULASKI COUNTY SR. HIGH, VA / 2027Everyday starter for a state tournament team as a freshman, Carter has plenty of projection left. 6-foot-4 frame and only 15 and 3 months, almost two years younger than a few others in this same class. Raw power potential that he will need to keep improving on his ability to access it in game. Corner outfield/first base profile long term with the change to be a run production bat.

Jaxon Foreman C / 3B / NEW KENT HIGH, VA / 2027Extremely young for his class, Foreman hasn't even turned 15 yet. He made some big impressions in front of our staff this summer at tournaments. Slow and controlled hover load and then explodes the barrel through the zone. He stays tight on the turn at the plate and can cover the inner half, as well as has shown the ability to use the middle of the field. Offensive profile that continues to add lean strength and will be one to watch this spring.
Christian GOMEZ OF / LHP / BATTLEFIELD HIGH, VA / 2027Wiry athletic frame for the new face to the 2027 rankings and new face to Virginia (moved from Florida). Barrel has length in the zone and has shown some potential adjustability. It is a slightly longer path at times, but has shown the ability to delivery the barrel on time. Left handed hitter that will certainly be one to keep an eye on going forward.
Josiah Joyner RHP / SS / LAKELAND HIGH, VA / 2027Joyner threw some big innings for Lakeland as a freshman and should only continue to go up from here. Long 6-foot-3 frame and an athletic mover on the mound. Low 80's is where the fastball usually sits and shows a downer breaking ball. Projection arm that should continue to make gains as he adds strength and mass to the frame.
Bryan Miller jr C / RHP / WOODGROVE HIGH, VA / 2027May end up as one of the most intriguing catching prospects to come through this state in a while. Left handed hitting catcher and can hit at a high level. Miller had a standout spring for Woodgrove, displaying his ability to impact the game from the front of a lineup. Also, Miller has shown mid 80's on the mound. He is a pretty talented athlete that also shines on the football field. Left handed hitting catchers are a premium, especially one with his athleticism, consistency at the plate, and add on the fact that he is a two sport athlete from a skill position.
Landon Sirois 3B / OF / St Paul Vi Catholic High School, VA / 2027Compact strength to the 5-foot-10, 195-pound frame. Above average hand and bat speed and some power potential to the middle and pull side of the field. Corner/corner defensive projection and has the chance to continue to add to his value as the potential power production and strength pick up.
Zach Tew RHP / Greenbrier Christian Academy, VA / 2027This arm jumped out to our staff early this summer, first at the Tidewater Phillies Scout Day and then again at a few tournaments. Normal effort, repeatable delivery. The fastball has been up to 86 in front of our staff and shows a bigger 12/6 breaking ball with solid feel. Add Tew to the group of talented GCA underclass arms.
Mark Williams Jr. 1B / RHP / WAKEFIELD HIGH, VA / 2027Williams is a recent Maryland transplant, moving into the VA/DC rankings this cycle. Williams will join the likes of Barrington, Bull, Branch, and others at Wakefield where we are fairly certain his physical tools and two-way talent will be welcomed. Usually mid-80's on the mound and has a strong physical presence there and at the plate. Left handed hitter with some present power and a heavy barrel with the ability to impact the baseball in a big way.
