While there was no expansion to this rankings update, we did see plenty of movement throughout the Top 175. Today we want to highlight five pitchers that have made a jump inside the rankings. Included in this story are videos and insights into the movement for each player.
VA/DC Class of 2026: Arms On The Rise
Lane Boyette RHP / C / New Kent, VA / 2026Compact 5-foot-9 frame. Short quick arm action from a low three-quarter arm slot. Sinker profile to the mid 80's fastball and will run it up with the occasional 88-89. Big run to the fastball, averaging around 18" of arm side run. The slider is firm in the mid 70's. The breaking ball can varie in shapes, but has shown the ability to land it for strikes fairly consistently. Will show an occasional changeup, but it is more reliever, two-pitch type of profile. While he contributed a ton of innings on the mound as a freshmen, his sophomore campaign was mostly designated to time behind the plate. His future is likely on the mound, but may once again see a large dose of time behind the plate. In the box he has shown some pull side power at times, but it is certainly his potential on the mound that shines the brightest.

Benjamin Favreau LHP / 1B / MECHANICSVILLE HIGH, VA / 2026Favreau can spin on the better breaking balls in this VA/DC class. It is his ability to throw and land the bigger shaped curveball that allows him to close the gap on some other arms. The fastball velo remains pretty consistent in the low 80's, but has shown a small tick up, touching some 85-86. While Favreau has not thrown much on the varsity level thus far, he could be one of the most consistent arms on the Mechanicsville roster this year.

Logan Heath RHP / PRINCE GEORGE HIGH, VA / 2026The Prince George HS product is an arm that we have not gotten a chance to see as much, not until late summer and this fall. The recent Longwood commit is an easy effort right hander that works in the mid 80's and has shown an occasional 87-88. The delivery and build up is pretty effortless and the fastball tends to get on hitters a little quicker. Has shown a low to mid 70's breaking ball that is a serviceable secondary offering. This is a late jump arm that has taken a significant step forward in the last year, ultimately leading to his commitment to the Lancers.

Michael Todero RHP / SS / St. John's College , VA / 2026Todero has come on the scene as one of the quicker risers and one of the more intriguing arms in the region. Long levers, lean frame, and plenty of room to add strength. A lot of moving parts and a lot for a hitter to look at. Slower buildup to the delivery, creates above average arm speed, and the ball gets on hitters quick. The control has gotten much better in the last few looks that we have gotten and should factor into the SJC staff this spring. Recent St. Joe's commit.

Landon Turman LHP / OF / ABINGDON HIGH, VA / 2026Like the '25 class, there are always a few risers that, as it pertains to positions, maybe have not cemented themselves as one thing or the other. Turman showed our staff this spring that there is plenty of upside and intrigue on the mound and in the batter's box with this left/left arm and outfielder. On the mound it is a higher slot and showed our staff mostly a fastball/slider in short work. Heavy dose of low-mid 80's fastballs and works with normal effort from a fairly repeatable delivery. At the plate is where he probably made the biggest impressions to our staff. Square setup, quiet load and pre-pitch movements, and consistently delivers the barrel on time. In both games we saw him this spring, he impacted the baseball and game on the offensive side. Ambushed an early count offering for a homerun in our first look and had a handful of other hits in those two games. While it is hit over power right now, the swing works extremely well and shows feel for the barrel that will allow more power to come as he matures. Turman is a recent East Carolina commit.
