Today we release an early spring update to the 2028 class. This update will have the class expanding to the Top 50, as our staff was able to see more than 100 current freshman this winter. Below we highlight a few players that our staff had an opportunity to gather evaluations on this winter.

Other than one new face and one riser, the Top 10 remains mostly unchanged. We had a little bit of shifting in the middle, but mostly new faces added on the backend of the Top 50.

+ Danny Sullivan - RHP - St. John's College HS

XL framed 6-foot-5 enters into the Class of 2028 as the #10 player in Virginia/DC. Sullivan made a big statement this winter at the Diamond Skills All-American event. Younger features, normal effort, low three-quarter slot, and shows some early signs of potential pitchability. The fastball was mid 80's and showed some feel for secondary, especially the changeup. The low 80's changeup had some quality shape and action, with above average feel for his class. High ceiling arm in a program that is known to produce arms that are gradual climbers and have quality pitchability.

+ Austin Westcott - OF - Briar Woods

One of the more explosive young athletes we saw this winter. In addition to some athleticism and tools, the Briar Woods product is one of the youngest players we have seen in this class. With plenty of room to grow into the frame, and the present athleticism that he brings, it was a no brainer that this NOVA based positional player needed to move in to the rankings. Top 5-10 in multiple testing areas this winter, including best RSI score, Top 5 vertical, Top 10 30-yard time, and a Top 5 10-yard split. Although it is not high end bat or hand speed, it is definitely quick through the zone and can turn the barrel with the ability to grow into above average impact.

+ Tucker Von Herbulis - 3B - Glen Allen

5-foot-10, 149-pound thin frame. We have talked about the Glen Allen two-way talent, but this time it is his moving into the Top 50 that we are discussing. Higher floor player that simply put, seems to do everything well. Right now, it is not an explosive, loud tools type of profile, but a young man who just seems to have a feel for his movements and a solid foundation to his game. The biggest step that Von Herbulis will need to make going forward is the addition of strength. That should be of utmost importanct to this freshman over the next year in order for those tools to continue to progress with his in game performance.

+ Braxton Price - C - John Battle

The Junior Future Games alum and product of southwest Virginia has a solid showing in early February in front of our staff, resulting in a well deserved addition to this 2028 class. Higher motor player, controlled intent in the swing at the plate, and versatile defender. Average arm strength behind the plate with a quick exchange and accuracy to the bag. It is a lighter and thinner frame at 5-foot-8 and 135-pounds. The strength will come and when it does, his impact to the game will keep making steps forward.
