Overall Summary
No high school program has won as consistently as Puyallup in recent years, and they look to have one of the best teams in the state again entering 2025. The Vikings are led by RHP/INF and Oregon State commit Mason Pike. The number two ranked senior in the state is the reigning Prep Baseball Player of the Year and is an incredible talent on both sides of the ball. Joining Pike on the mound will be a pair of hard throwing junior right-handers in Max Schweyen and Cyrus Cline. Schweyen is a Washington commit with one of the better breaking balls in his class. The left side of the infield will be another huge strength for Puyallup. Senior shortstop and Oregon State commit Gage Thompson is a physical player with plenty of talent. Brayden Landry is the second ranked sophomore in the state and features plus plus speed to go along with a great glove. Landry was already hitting at the top of the varsity order by the end of his freshman season. Junior Noah Benedict and senior Pierce CC commit Riley Sanoy are a pair of lefty bats that should man the outfield. A pair of freshman also come in with a chance to make immediate impact in Madden Pike and Gregory Johnson. Pike is the number one ranked freshman in the state with an electric arm, while Johnson is a true power bat with a mature game for his class. Puyallup has several great matchups throughout the season, including consectutive early season games with Mount Vernon, Eastlake, and Kennedy Catholic. Look for the Vikings to once again compete for a state title.
