Overall Summary
Mt. Spokane checks in at #22 on Prep Baseball Washington's Preseason Power 25 Rankings after a strong 2024 that resulted in a state playoff appearance. Upperclass depth should be a key factor in the Wildcats success this season, as they return a vast majority of both their pitching and starting lineup. Northwest Nazarene commit Brayten Ayers headlines the team after winning GSL MVP last season. Junior uncommitted arm Connor Moffitt could be poised for a huge breakout, showing jumps into the upper 80's on the mound with some left-handed pop at the plate at a recent Prep Baseball event. Joe Speir and Layne Bennett will provide a steady presence toward the top of the lineup. Head coach Alex Schuerman is challenging the Wildcats with an early season doubleheader against Woodinville and Richland, and is also looking forward to matchups later in the season against Central Valley, University, and Gonzaga Prep. Mt. Spokane looks to be one of the stronger squads in the eastern Washington yet again this spring.
