Overall Summary

As 2A teams go, Columbia River has been the best of the best in recent years, winning the 2A title last spring. The Rapids come in at #23 in Prep Baseball Washington's Preseason Power Rankings after a 22-6 finish last year. Two of the top arms return as seniors in RHP Noah Coakes and LHP Harrison Hoffarth. Coakes threw a complete game in the state championship and should be an innings eater yet again. Fellow senior Nate Little returns to man third base and should see a bigger role offensively. Junior Kian Siegel has a chance to click with the catching duties, after impressing at a Prep Baseball event last summer. Head coach Stephen Donohue looks forward to playing top-end 2A competition in the Baseballism classic, which Prep Baseball will be covering at the end of March. Despite losing several key contributors, expect Columbia River to make noise in state yet again this year.
