Overall Summary

Mount Vernon enters the 2025 season as one of the true powerhouse teams in the state and the early favorite for the 3A state title. The Bulldogs are lead by senior INF/RHP and Oregon State commit Xavier Neyens. Neyens is ranked 1st in the state and 6th on Prep Baseball's national player rankings. An immense talent with plus power from the left hand side, Neyens is also a smooth glove and can run his fastball well into the 90's on the mound. The Bulldogs have plenty of other talent returning from their team that made it to the 3A championship game last spring. Senior INF/RHP and Edmonds CC commit Dylan Jacobs is a power bat that hit cleanup for much of last season, and offers some defensive versatility positionally. Junior INF Baird Brewer made massive strides last season and should also slot in the middle of the lineup. Junior 1B/DH Bode Webb provides even more thump, and posted some of the best exit velocities and batted ball distances of any Prep Baseball Washington preseason event. On the mound, senior RHP Brody Olmsted and junior LHP Brady Collins both return after logging a bulk of the innings last season. Collins will also man center field and is a great lefty bat. Sophomore INF Reece Roberts is a physical underclassman to watch after playing 1B down the stretch as a freshman. The Bulldogs will begin their season with a potential game of the year matchup with Puyallup, and will also face early season tests with Battle Ground and Jackson. Look for Mount Vernon to dominate this season and be a true contender for a 3A state title.
