Prep Baseball Report

Washington 2025 Rankings Update

Dan Jurik
Scouting Director - Pacific Northwest

Our updated and expanded 2025 list covers 60 names in the class that we’re high on heading into the Fall season. With a majority of the players at the top already off the board with Division 1 commitments, the 2025 class has established high end talent to go with emerging depth and a wide range of skill sets finishing out the list.

Since its inception in 2005, the Prep Baseball Report has evolved into one of the country’s biggest and most respected independent scouting services, with a singular focus of providing comprehensive year-round coverage in every state we are in. The mission of the Prep Baseball Report is to scout and promote amateur baseball - high school, junior college and college - and, ultimately, help athletes achieve their dreams of playing baseball at the next level.

Rankings are based on evaluations by scouting director Dan Jurik as well as additional PBR scouts across the country who have seen prospects from the state at various events.

With a majority of the prospects on the list uncommitted, the goal is for this information to help assist  college coaches as they look to finalize their recruiting classes and add additional pieces to their roster.

Top 5

The long standing #1 player in the class remains the same in the newest update. ‘25 ATH Xavier Neyens (Mount Vernon/Oregon State commit) has done nothing to loosen his hold on the top spot. If anything, it has only been even more cemented after a huge summer that saw him make strides both offensively and on the mound. Nationally he has some of the best pop in the entire country for his class and his advanced left-handed swing gives him power production to all fields. He can handle multiple spots on the diamond and his arm strength shines wherever you place him. On the mound, he just recently bumped 94 mph with his FB this summer and he’s shown the ability to work deep into games and use secondaries during the spring. Overall, Neyens is a major talent and shows no signs of slowing down. Keep an eye out for where he lands in the updated national rankings that drop tomorrow.

High school teammates at Puyallup, ‘25 SS Gage Thompson (Puyallup/Oregon State commit) and ‘25 SS/RHP Mason Pike (Puyallup/Oregon State commit) round out the Top 3. Thompson has a physical presence at SS and held down the position throughout the spring as a Freshman on varsity for a loaded roster that was the runner up at state finals. Offensively he features strong, quick wrists and has shown easy bat speed in game. Pike is a slick defender with the versatility to float around the INF. His switch-hitting ability gives him an advantage at the dish where he’s capable of spraying the ball to all fields and flashes gap-to-gap power. He’s also had some impressive reports coming in regarding his aptitude on the bump and his velocity has continued to rise into the upper 80s.

The top ranked uncommitted prospect in the class, ‘25 OF/RHP Will Cahill (Seattle Prep) offers big time projection and exciting power from the left side. A twitchy OF who can run and throw at a high level, Cahill has made impressive strides on the mound recently as well. Most notably in early August when his FB was up to 85-87. At the plate, it’s an athlete, left-handed stroke with lift and the ability to get the ball in the air to all fields. Dynamic 2-way talent.

Recent Stanford commit ‘25 INF/RHP Teddy Tokheim (Lakeside) comes in at #5 in the newest update. Tokheim had a loud performance in February at our Pre-Season All-State where he landed towards the top of statistical leaders in exit velocity and FB velo. The talented 2-way player can do a bit of everything on the diamond and really took a big step forward in the last year with added strength and physicality.

Orlando Young RHP / 3B / Federal Way , WA / 2025

There might not be another prospect who helped their status more this spring and summer than ‘25 3B/RHP Orlando Young (Federal Way/Washington commit). After a highly successful high school season, he kept the momentum going into the summer, flashing impressive arm talent and physical ability. On the mound is where his talent really shines with a mid-to-upper 80’s FB and consistent control of a 3 pitch mix. Expect him to hear more from Young over the next few years.

Hawkeye Delgado C / 3B / Henry M Jackson , WA / 2025

‘25 C Hawkeye Delgado (Jackson) is one of the top uncommitted prospects on our list. QB1 in the fall, he has noticeable strength in everything he does to go with athletic actions and body control. Profiles well behind the dish with his ability to move and get out of his crouch while flashing ample arm strength. Offensively he’s still growing into his body but the bat speed and swing path all project well for future gains.

Tyler Walker LHP / 1B / Burlington Edison, WA / 2025

At 6’5, 230 lbs, there aren’t many prospects who can match the size and strength of ‘25 1B/LHP Tyler Walker (Burlington Edison). He’s more than just a big body though as he’s polished up his actions on the mound as well as showcased a clean, left-handed swing with easy loft. Made a solid velo jump on the mound this past year and could develop into a 3 pitch lefty in time. But the bat also has plenty of ability and he should do damage offensively for years to come.

Mason Pirello SS / RHP / Skyline, WA / 2025

‘25 INF Mason Pirello (Skyline) has one of the best speed & strength combos in the class. An athletic mover who can accelerate quickly and flashes burst on defense, he can also impact the baseball with authority and was up to a 97.7 peak EV at our Preseason All State event. Creates easy bat speed with an aggressive finish through contact. Fits well in the INF presently but his overall athleticism will make it easy for him to move around the diamond whenever needed.
