‘23 SS Marques Abulhosn (Gonzaga) - Big day at the plate going 4-4 with 3 R and a RBI. Offensively has always shown a good approach with consistent bat-to-ball skills. Has since added some additional strength and is starting to drive the ball into the gaps on a regular basis. Fluid LH swings sprays contact to all parts of the field. Moves well on D with light feet and crisp fielding actions.

‘23 INF Max Clark (Washington) - Didn’t get a ton of pitches to hit on this look but made it count when he had strikes to work with. Went 1-1 with a 2B, 3 R, RBI and 2 BB. Hits from a wide base with a low leg lift and shorter forward move. Hands push back during load then slot lower as he initiates swing. Heavy barrel action with power that plays to all fields.

‘24 Neal Baron - Baron went 2-2 in the DH spot with a 2B, R and BB. Possesses short, powerful levers in upper half that help him stay short to the ball and quickly move the barrel into contact. Easy bat speed with present gap to gap power.

‘23 Alex Henderson (Occidental) - Physical LH bat who has shown a propensity for driving in runs over the last 2 seasons. Went 1-2 on this look and made the 1 hit count with a 3 RBI double in the bottom of the 1st. Tall, balanced set-up in the box with few moving parts. Lets the hands control the barrel and is strong at the point of contact.

‘23 Evan Otte - Big, strong RHP had a short but impressive outing, pitching 3 innings while allowing 1 H, 2 BB, 0 R with 4 K. FB was up to 89 early and mostly 87-88 in his first inning of work. Showed both a CB with 11/5 shape at 70-71 and a tighter SL at 76-77 with late darting action. Easy, repeatable delivery with short, compact arm action and quickness out front at release. Uncommitted.

‘23 LHP Edgar Nakamura (Hawaii) - Southpaw came on for 2 scoreless innings in relief. Recording 6 outs without allowing a hit. Issued 2 BB and punched out 4. FB 84-86 with some late cut again and a sharp CB at 72.75 from a high ¾ release

‘23 SS Payton Knowles (Gonzaga) - Quiet day for one of the top players in the 2023 class. Knowles went 0-1 with a BB and was denied additional ABs as the game was called after 5 innings due to the 10 run rule. Mature left-handed batter continues to show a keen eye at the plate and patrols SS with confidence while remaining a vocal leader on the field

‘24 OF Justin Grande - Had the only hit on the day for the Seahawks with a hard single up the middle. Short, tight swing keeping hands inside of the ball with a more level, flat finish. Defended well from RF and showed off his ability to track down the ball with a few nice plays throughout the day.

‘24 OF/LHP Keenan Masters (Washington) - Got the starting assignment on the mound with put together a strong outing across 5+ innings. Allowing only 4 H, 3 R (1ER), 3 BB and 8 K. A crafty lefty arm that pitches mostly 79-81. Master relies on his consistent mix of FB/CB/CH to keep hitters off balance and guessing. CH was especially effectively on this outing against RHH, getting multiple swings and misses. Offensively had a quiet day going 0-1 with a BB, HBP and SB but shows a loose LH swing and consistent strike zone discipline.

‘24 SS Jace Hampson (Oregon) - A top 10 player in the ‘24 class, Hampson is a wiry athlete with long levers and an athletic frame. Handled SS with a confident glove hand and controls the diamond when he’s out there on defense. Moves especially well up the middle with plenty of arm to carry the ball across the diamond. Went 0-3 at the plate and caught a tough break on a hard liner straight back up the middle that got knocked down by the pitcher, robbing him of a hit.

‘23 RHP Blake Sandvik (Everett CC) - Pitched 5 very clean innings allowing only 1 H, 1 BB and facing 1 batter over the minimum while striking out 6. Controls his actions on the mound with a long, loose arm action and late intent through the finish. FB shows some sinking action at 82-84 with a sweeping breaking at 68-72 that he can land for strikes or expand when ahead.

‘23 RHP George Naramore (Everett CC) - Very impressed with the raw stuff and upside we saw from Naramore in his 2 relief innings. FB touched 88 and varied 84-87 throughout. Used a slurve shaped breaker at 71-73. Big, projectable frame to grow into with a loose, whippy arm action out front. Big upside left to tap into as he continues to mature physically.

It was a quiet but effective day for the Blanchet offense as they only had 6 hits but managed to produce 4 runs. In large part to some effective small ball and 6 free passes. ‘23 Aiden Burgess went 2-4 and drove in 2 of the 4 runs while ‘24 Anthony Puckett added 2 hits of his own.
