3.22.22 - FEderal Way, Auburn Mountainview, AUburn Riverside, Tahoma

Austin Crawford, RHP, Federal Way, 2023 Established himself as one of the top uncommitted arms to know in the 2023 class. Velo has climbed since we saw Crawford in the fall and he was up to 87 mph with his FB. Pitches at a sustainable 84-86 with control. Strong bodied & durable. Built like a workhorse starter. CB comes in at 70-72 with gradual 11/5 break. Feel/command of CB got better as outing went along & he understands how to expand the zone when ahead. Fun competitor to watch on the bump with controlled aggression. Finished with 7 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 13 K. Uncommitted.

Jay O’Neill, OF/INF, Federal Way, 2023 Contributed one of only 4 hits recorded for the Federal Way offense on the day. Showing a clean left-handed stroke and sound swing decisions in the box. Hits with a mature presence. Creates easy lift & is a consistent gap-to-gap power threat with more pop on the way as he matures. Brings solid defensively versatility to the field as well. Uncommitted.

Isaiah Afework, OF, Federal Way, 2023 Started off the bottom of the 7th with a huge double for FW that got the offense going and ultimately led to their walk-off win. A high level basketball player, Afework stretches out the uniform with his length and projectability. The athleticism translates to the diamond & gives him exciting potential offensively. Twitchy athlete who will likely make big jumps quickly as he continues to get more reps this spring. Uncommitted.

Anthony Myers, INF, Federal Way, 2022, Skagit Valley commit Went 2-3 on the day with a run scored. Offensively he shows innate contact ability and simply understands how to get his best swing off in the right counts. Capable of spraying contact to all parts of the field while being dependable on defense.

Emilio Feliciano, INF/RHP, Auburn Mountainview, 2023 Went inning for inning with Crawford in a highly efficient pitcher’s duel for 6 innings of work. Finished with a final line of 6 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K. Pitched 80-83 and held mostly 80-81. Used effective SL at 72-74 as main secondary and induced consistent weak contact with the breaker. Had a quiet game offensively on this look but shows a balanced swing from the right side and will be a key fixture in the offense for AM this season. Uncommitted.

Vicente Feliciano, INF, Auburn Mountainview, 2022 Had a well-rounded offensive performance on the day. Going 1-2 with a R and BB while getting things going from the lead-off spot and playing SS. Defensively continues to show control of a smooth glove hand and easy actions on the exchange. Short, quick arm action. Stays tall & relaxed at the dish with a simple forward move, lets the hands work and keeps the ball in the middle of the field. Uncommitted.

Richie Rodriguez, C, Auburn Mountainview, 2022 Skagit Valley commit. Put together a solid workout back in Feb. at our All-State event, showing consistent pop times & a FB up to 83. Handled catching duties on this look and controls the game back there with confidence and energy. Also contributed 1 of 2 hits on the day for AM.

Julius Hooks, SS, Tahoma, 2022, Tacoma CC commit Started things off for Tahoma with a leadoff single, would eventually come around to score their first run of the game and there was no looking back at that point. The high energy senior finished 2-3 with 3 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB while playing a dependable SS in the middle of the diamond.

Logan Pierce, RHP, Tahoma, 2023 Was in complete control for his 3 dominant innings of work. Allowing 0 baserunners and striking out 4. Certainly could have pitched deeper into the game but came out after 3 IP holding onto a 12 run lead. Heavy 80-84 FB that he’ll run in on RHH and CB at 72-74 with consistent control. Workhouse type starter on the bump who will rack up a lot of innings this season. Uncommitted.

Cody Monaghan, OF, Tahoma, 2022 Went 1-1 with a R, 2 RBI and BB before being lifted from the game once Tahoma had a sizable lead. Looks poised for a strong offensive year. Size and projection has always been present and he’s started to fill out that frame and do more damage offensively. Uncommitted.

Noah Lee, OF, Tahoma, 2023 Helped kickstart the offense in the 1st inning with a 2 RBI single that got Tahoma on the board. Also added an oppo triple later on and finished with 5 RBI on the day. Patrols the OF well with arm strength that plays and brings an aggressive mentality to both sides of the ball. Gritty type of ballplayer. Uncommitted.

Carson Ohland, C, Tahoma, 2023, Washington commit Didn’t get a ton of opportunities to flash his ability on this look but still impressed in a small sample size. Athletically, Ohland simply carries himself differently than other players on the field. It’s a pro body with strength, speed and advanced actions. The bat speed plays from both sides of the plate with power to all fields. Defensively he’s a standout catcher who is capable of neutralizing the run game. National level prospect.

Paul Walker, INF, Auburn Riverside, 2022. Riverside didn’t have much going for them on the night unfortunately. But Walker was able to record their lone hit while also driving in their only run of the game when he shot a clean single thru the right side in the top of the 4th inning. Uncommitted.
