Prep Baseball Report

Central Washington PSID - Quick Hits

Dylan Grenz
Associate Scout

On Saturday February 1st, Prep Baseball Washington hosted the Central Washington Preseason ID at The Six Athletic Facility in Moses Lake, WA. Prep Baseball scouts evaluated high school athletes in the 2025-2029 graduating classes, with several strong showings throughout the event.

Preseason ID events serve as an identifier heading into the spring high school season, providing Prep Baseball scouts and college recruiters a list of prospects to follow as they plan their spring coverage. We also tend to see prospects’ best performances in the preseason, as most athletes are fresh and coming off of strict and targeted off-season training programs that have resulted in big gains. Standout performances can lead to invitations to some of the summer's biggest invite-only events, including the Pacific Northwest State Games, Prep Baseball Future Games, and more.

Today, Prep Baseball releases our Quick Hits, detailing scouting notes on standout players from the event. Players are listed alphabetically by last name. For all other post-event content, click here

Quick Hits

'26 C Eddie Dahle (Central Valley)
The Future Games alum had his full game on display, including an event-best 1.88 second catcher pop time. Strong, quick arm behind the plate. Showcased some present strength in right-handed swing. Starts in narrow, slightly open stance, with hovering leg load triggering hands to fire. Flatter swing path leading to low line drives in BP rounds.

'26 3B/RHP Bam Fenter (Coeur D'Alene)
Dynamic junior athlete . 6'2 frame, quick mover on both sides of the ball. FB sat 86-88 MPH from a higher-slot release. 4-pitch mix including a firm changeup, as well as a SL/CB combination. One of the most consistent BP rounds at the event, was on the barrel to the pull side. Had a peak exit velocity of 98.1 MPH with a 89% sweet spot percentage. Ran a 7.00 second 60-yard dash. Top-end talent out of Idaho.

'28 1B/LHP Carson Gaumer (West Valley)
One of several standout freshman at the event. Some physicality present already in 6'0, 180 pound frame. Simple wind and delivery on the mound, with a FB sitting 77-80 MPH. 4-pitch mix overall, showed most command with the CH. FB/CH had natural run with a high 3/4 slot release. Smooth lefty swing produced a peak exit velocity of 90.4 MPH. Will be an interesting follow moving forward.

'28 1B/LHP Trey Holdren (Southridge)
Holdren looked the part of the 9th ranked 2028 player in the state in his first Prep Baseball event. Advanced physicality present in 6'1, 208 pound frame. Bat is currently the leading tool, as the lefty posted a 96.2 MPH peak exit velocity with a max batted ball distance of 339 feet. Creates separation with hands in load and generates loft consistently. Also sat 78-79 MPH on the mound with his fastball, and flashed a looper CB and CH with fading action. Must-follow in years to come.

Clear improvements in game across the board from previous look last winter.

'25 SS/OF Kamden Lanphere (Central Valley)
One of the top uncommitted senior bats still on the board in Washington. Athletic 6'1, 190 pound frame moves well in the infield. Makes the routine play with potential to stick on the left side. Bat stood out in a major way, leading the event with a 401 foot blast. Posted a 100.7 MPH peak and 97.6 MPH average exit velocity. 7.03 second runner. Tools present that will translate at the next level.

'26 OF/LHP Dylan Mamiya (Kennewick)

Ran a 6.84 second 60-yard dash with quickness that translated to outfield defense. Lower-spin arm gives heaviness to offerings on the mound, including a low-80's fastball, a changeup with run and a slider/curveball breaker combination. Will be a critical two-way piece for Kennewick this spring.

'26 C/RHP Connor Moffitt (Mt Spokane)
Another one of the most impressive showings of the day, the junior had jumps in metrics nearly across the board. FB had easy life, sitting 87-89 MPH. Posted a 90.4 MPH peak exit velocity and 301 foot max batted ball distance. 73.1 MPH peak bat speed. Some upside moving forward.

Had a peak exit velocity of 97.2 MPH and max batted ball distance of 316 feet. FB was up to 80 MPH, but slider was the real standout offering on the mound, with multiple breakers spun of 2700+ RPM. 7.34 second runner.

'27 SS/RHP Brody ThreeStars (Mt Spokane)
One of many Mt Spokane players that showed well over the weekend. Lean framed 6'0 prospect showcased diverse game. Smooth defender with soft hands in the infield. Righty bat posted a peak exit velocity of 95.4 MPH. Flashed a four-pitch mix on the mound, showing consistent armspeed and ability to work all quadrants of the zone. 7.16 second 60-yard dash time. Upside there as strength is added.
