State Games Spotlight - '27 C/SS Pete Browand

Dylan Grenz
Associate Scout

Throughout the winter, Prep Baseball Washington is reflecting upon their showcase circuit in 2024 and highlighting standout performers. We continue with our State Games Spotlight series, specifically looking at players that participated in this year's invite-only Pacific Northwest State Games. These spotlights are meant to showcase players that Prep Baseball Scouts felt showed standout tools, large improvements in overall game, or potential upside moving forward at the summer's biggest event. College coaches and recruiters should be sure to keep an eye on these prospects in the coming months.

Today, we spotlight 2027 C/SS Pete Browand. The Peninsula High School athlete had a strong spring campaign as a freshman, leading the Seahawks to a 3A State appearance. Browand played in the infield out of necessity during the high school season but is a natural catcher with athleticism and present arm strength.

The 6'1 prospect features a line drive approach with plus bat speed. Behind the plate, Browand has shown the ability to block the ball well and control the run game, and should continue to develop defensively. A fierce competitor, Browand has consistently been in or around the top ten in the state player rankings for over a year. Below is a complete breakdown of the sophomore, including a scouting report from last winter and video from the PNW State Games.
