New Face At #1

#1 2027 RHP/SS Eli Jones (Woodinville/Oregon State)
Jones deservedly slots in as the new number one ranked player in the class after multiple looks this summer. The longtime Oregon State commit was seen at the 16U National Championships in Georgia last June, where he faced elite-level competition from across the country. Jones was later seen at the PNW Scout Games in Portland, where he largely dominated on the mound against older competition.

The 5'11 righty plays loose and free on both sides of the baseball. Though the arm currently leads the way, Jones also showcases a solid approach at the plate. In looks this spring, the then-freshman posted some of the most consistent at-bats with multiple knocks in high school games. Partnering this with his high-end stuff on the mound, Jones figures to be one of the more dominant athletes in Washington though the next several years.

From 8/21/24... "One of the most impressive outings of day two at the PNW Scout Games, Jones sat 90-92 with his FB and held his velocity throughout the outing. SL/CH were main secondary offerings, each sitting in the upper 70's. High intent through motion with whippy arm action from medium frame. Some arm recoil present but showed repeatability in mechanics throughout. Also had multiple hits over two games."

More At the Top

#2 2027 SS Brayden Landry (Puyallup)
Landry was a regular at the top of Puyallup's lineup by the end of his freshman season and carried that momentum into a strong summer. His plus-plus speed is his leading tool currently, with a sound line-drive approach at the plate and ability to work quality at bats as well. Like Jones, Landry more than held his own at the PNW Scout Games in Portland, notching multiple hits while showcasing range and maturity defensively.

From 8/21/24... "Looked the part of one of the top ranked prospects in the area, generating some of the best and most consistent at-bats. Stays compact and on-balance with adjustability at the plate. Lean, twitchy frame with plus speed. Advanced glove for age stood out in fielding workout portion of the event. Strong all-around showing with ability to impact the game in multiple ways."

#3 2027 OF Reece Johnson (Kings Way Christian)
Johnson gained looks at the first-ever PNW State Games this summer. The 6'4 lefty offers plenty to dream on, already showcasing plus bat speed and some of the loudest barrels in the class. Defensively, Johnson showed some ability to move for his size, high pointing fly balls with enough arm strength to stick in either corner outfield spot. The Kings Way Christian product should dominate high school competition and continue to get looks nationally during the travel circuit.

From 2/28/24... "Looking the part of a preeminent power-bat in the class, Johnson banged balls at exit speeds that topped 100 mph. A quality athlete who moves well for his 6-foot-4, 215-pound size (7.27), his ability to turn the barrel from the left side stood out as he sent some (would-be) majestic shots sailing high into the surrounding net as Trackman registered a max distance of 372 feet. Toe-tapping into a simple load of the hands, there is explosiveness through the zone as he overpowers the barrel, and especially the ball. Still showing signs of even more physical development to come, Johnson is clearly a name that college coaches will want to follow closely the next two years."

#4 2027 OF/RHP Wyatt Plyler (Sumner)
Featuring some of the most dynamic set of tools in the class, Plyler picked up some buzz toward the end of the spring and exploded with one of the loudest performances at the PNW State Games over the summer. A multi-sport athlete, the righty has twitchy actions and a natural athleticism present in his overall game. The 6'1 athlete should only continue to get better moving forward.

From 8/10/24... "A big rankings riser in spring and summer looks. Lean strength present, plus athlete ran a 6.69 60-yard dash. High intent late down the mound, best FB peaked at 85 MPH with a CH/SL combination. Spin metrics suggest more velocity should be coming down the line. Solid RH approach at the plate, able to hit to all fields with athletic setup. Among the event's best as well with an 89 MPH throw from the OF."

New Additions

#43 2027 RHP/OF Brendan Winkler (Overlake)
A 6'0, 155 pound two-way prospect, Winkler makes his rankings debut and will be a prospect to keep an eye on moving forward. The fastball has already flashed up to 84 MPH from a lower-slot, fluid delivery. At the plate, starts in a flat barreled setup with some loft created at contact. Plenty of room to add strength, could be an arm that pops next season.

#55 2027 1B/LHP Josh Connelly-Smith (Eastside Catholic)
The 6'2 athlete was seen at the Pacific Northwest Fall ID this October and showed some loud offensive metrics. Stays in lower half through entirety of swing, producing plus bat and hand speed. Posted a 98.5 MPH max and 87.7 MPH exit velocity, driving balls out of the yard to the pull side. Added quickness can lead to a huge spring for the Eastside Catholic product.

#63 2027 OF/RHP Cooper Hordyk (Curtis)
Another athlete with upside in 6'3, 165 pound frame. Has shown smooth defensive actions with quickness to stick as SS. Simple, low-effort repeatability at the plate with tight turn into two-handed finish. Flashed a three-pitch mix on the mound as well. Prospect to keep an eye on moving into 2025.
