2017 Rankings: Final Update

For the final time the 2017 rankings are updated. The season is over, champions have been crowned, the MLB draft has passed and seniors are now looking ahead to their college careers.

RHP Ryan Hoerter (Indian Trail) finishes with the top spot in the 2017 rankings. Hoerter had a phenominal year on his way to Wisconsin’s PBR Player of the Year and a late round draft pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hoerter finished the year with a 0.36 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 57.2 innings pitched and giving up just 23 hits on the year.

LHP Ben Dragani (Catholic Memorial) moved up to the No. 4 spot after putting together a huge senior campaign as well. Locking up the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year award, Dragani posted a 0.69 ERA, striking out 98 in 60.2 innings.

Several other seniors stepped up in their final high school season. Nathan Aide (Franklin), a Madison JC cmmit, showed extremely well with the bat all spring and jumped into the top 40. LHP Austin Wagner went 8-2 with a 1.35 ERA and showed improved velocity making him a top 50 prospect. Tremper’s Garrett LaBreche is a Mesa CC commit and made a hug jump of over 50 spots as well as being selected to the WBCA First-Team All-State.
