Appleton North's Connor Rolain commits to Illinois-Chicago

Scouting Director – Wisconsin

Connor Rolain is the best available outfield prospect in Wisconsin’s 2014 class, and has recently made his commitment to University of Illinois-Chicago. The Appleton North product marks the second Wisconsin player in his class to make his college commitment. No. 1 prospect Jeren Kendall (Holmen) made his commitment to Vanderbilt earlier this past fall.Connor Rolain

Rolain is one of the top offensive threats available in Wisconsin’s 2014 class. He is physically advanced and shows serious power potential. His swing is clean and repeatable and shows excellent balance throughout with an active lower half.

When it came time to make a decision Rolain had a number of Division 1 schools courting him with multiple offers on the table. In the end Rolain decided to go with Coach Mike Dee and his staff at UIC , he said “the coaches really made me feel comfortable and I like what they are doing with the program and the direction it is going”.

Rolain had his priorities in line when making his decision stating that “UIC is one of the top schools in the Midwest” and knows the possibilities after college, “a degree from UIC can do a lot of things for me after I graduate”.

Rolain will hope to make and immediate offensive impact for the Flames who finished fifth in the Horizon League in batting average and will be returning just one .300 hitter from the 2013 squad.

Rolain will be joining fellow Badger state prospect, incoming freshman Brett Krause (Menomonee Falls, 2013), when he suits up for the Flames after his senior season.
