Eastern Wisconsin Open: Outfielder Analysis

By Wisconsin Scouting Staff

On Aug. 20, we visited Wildwood Baseball Park in Sheboygan, Wis., to host the Eastern Wisconsin Open. Nearly 50 prospects attended the Sheboygan-area event, and a couple have even committed since. This event is becoming a feature along the tail end of the summer’s busy showcase circuit.

Today, we’ll analyze the group of outfielders who came out to perform in this pro-style workout.

Reyshawn Sprewer (Pius XI, 2020) put together one of the top all-around performances from this group. At the plate, from the left side, the 5-foot-8 outfielder kept things loose and in rhythm that made for some sound line-drive contact. On defense, Sprewer looked the part, too. He roamed around the outfield with natural instincts with an arm that produced the second hardest velocity home on the day. His performance in Sheboygan helped validate his status as a top-70 prospect within his state's junior class.

Read Sprewer’s report, as well as the rest of the 11 outfielders who came out to the Eastern Wisconsin Open, by continuing on below. We’ve already published a Statistical Analysis from the showcase, as well as a break down of the day’s catchers. Also, keep an eye out tomorrow when we examine the prospects who patrolled the infield.
