Future Games: Wisconsin Workout Day

Day One of the 2017 PBR Future Games is complete and featured the workout portion of the event in front of over 150 college coaches. We start our Wisconsin analysis of some of the top performers from the workout. Team Wisconsin opens up gameplay tomorrow against Team Indiana at 6:00 PM with batting practice starting at 4:45 PM.

OF Steve Jamroziak (Muskego) had arguably the best day of any player on Team Wisconsin showing his all around athleticism running a 6.79 60 yard dash and throwing 88 mph from the outfield. At the plate Jamroziak showed a balanced, line drive approach and sprayed hard backspinning liners in BP. Jamroziak is currently ranked No. 4 in the Wisconsin Class of 2019.
OF/RHP Drew Leszczynski (Brookfield Central) showed off a strong arm throwing a team best 91 mph from the outfield. In addition to a strong arm, Leszczysnki ran a 6.98 60-yard dash and registered a 91 mph exit velocity from a tee.
Team Wisconsin featured six runners who posted sub-7.00 60-yard dash times. In addition to Jamroziak and Leszczynski the other top runners were Zach Lechnir (Kimberly) running a 6.71, Drew Lechnir (Kimberly) running a 6.83, Alexander Huissen (Indian Trail) running a 6.95, and Ryan Mazza (Brookfield East) both running a 6.98.
Jack Haufle (Oregon) and Huissen both threw 88 mph from the outfield. Haufle also had one of the best overall arms out of the crouch at 80 mph, an event top ten number.
Tyler Brandenburg (Lake Country Lutheran) posted the top exit velocity off the tee for Team Wisconsin, then translated it to his BP session showing some easy pull side pop while leaving the yard.
C Adam Juran (Sauk Prairie) was a late addition to the Future Games and took advantage of his opportunity putting up the top pop time from the Badger State at 2.04. Luke Hansel (Union Grove) also showed good catch and throw skills with an accurate strong arm to the bag. Hansel will also show off his arm on the mound later this week.
Wisconsin infield play was led by Zach Lechnir who played well through the baseball cutting down angles and showing confident hands. Brent Widder (Sheboygan North), Bubba Thompson (Appleton West) and Dylan Krumrei (Oshkosh North) rounded out the middle infield group, all versatile infielders that showed reliable hands defensively.
