IL/WI All-State Games: Infielder Analysis

By Illinois & Wisconsin Staffs

On June 30, the PBR Illinois and Wisconsin teams hosted its select annual event, the All-State Games, at The Rock Complex in Franklin, Wis. This invite-only showcase targets the top uncommitted incoming juniors from both states, while serving as a key identifier in the lead-up to the PBR Future Games.

It is perennially one of the most important showcases on the summer calendar and this year’s roster proved to be a memorable one.

We provided some instant insight in the days following All-State Games inside of our Quick Hits post and Statistical Analysis, both highlighting the top performances from this event. We started our position-by-position breakdown on Monday when we analyzed the day’s catchers and outfielders, and we’re onto this talented group of infielders today.

We broke up the ranking below and separated this collection by corner infield types and middle infielders.

From northwest Wisconsin, River Falls prospect Ragan Pinnow (2022) is looking more and more like one of the class’ steadiest and most physical right-handed bats. Simple gap-to-gap bat strength lies in his swings and he can cover his ground at the hot corner, too. Illinois’ Victor Izquierdo (Lockport, 2022) has arguably the largest power potential of this group, with hulking strength from the right side that produced the day’s top exit velocity mark (98 mph). He may fit best at first base, but he can also catch.

Up the middle, the list is filled with glove-first infielders. The players near the top of the ranking are closely matched in skill, though Easton Harris (Washington Community, IL, 2022) offers a little bit of everything with his premium athleticism – and two-way upside.

Check out the scouting reports on each of these prospects below, as well as the reports on all of the infielders who participated at this event – it’s an impressive group, even beyond those ranked. Stay tuned tomorrow for a look into the day’s pitchers.
