With the younger classes and smaller lists, there isn’t a ton of room to see big numerical jumps in a players ranking. However, Jake Berg (Bay Port) moved up almost ten spots and just outside the top ten after a strong showing this fall. Berg has a high defensive upside with excellent catch and throw skills highlighted by a strong, accurate arm that carries well out of the crouch.
Two more catchers saw an uptick in stock, Thomas Otto (Appleton North) and Cameron Dupont (West De Pere). Otto has a strong physical presence that stands out in the box. His right-handed bat has power potential to go along with an above average receiver. Dupont is more of a projectable type, he shows some current lean strength but his frame is long and lean and can handle plenty more at 6-foot-2, 188-pounds. Added strength should bode well for his bat, he has loose hands and athletic rhythm from the right side. Dupont’s stand out tool is currently his defense, he has a plus arm for his age and soft hands.
Taiten Manriquez (Waunakee) showed increased velocity on the mound this fall sitting 83-84 mph with a loose arm adding to his two-way stock. Defensively he still shows strong actions on the infield and can stick there while his bat will improve with strength.
