Back on Tuesday, we released the updated and expanded look at the state’s Class of 2021 Rankings. Yesterday, we broke down the 16 prospects making their debuts on the sophomore rankings, and today is reserved for the prospects within this class who have been rising up the board.

Within this post, we’re specifically analyzing the players who were on September’s 2021 state board, the first edition of the Class of 2021 Rankings, and continue to head north up the board.

We’ve covered the majority of this class’ risers already, considering four members of the top 10 can be considered risers themselves. For example, the state’s new top prospect Noah Miller (Ozaukee; Alabama commit) leapfrogged a pair of prospects to take over the new No. 1 title. We also wrote up extensive notes on Benjamin Loyd (Tremper; uncommitted) on Tuesday, considering his two-spot jump landed him within the board’s top 10 for the first time.

Fellow top-10-ranked prospects Joey Spence (West Bend East; Notre Dame) and Owen Washburn (Webster; uncommitted) each stepped up a solitary spot each, respectively.

Today, we’ll turn our attention to a single riser who climbed a hefty nine spots up the board in this update – from No. 22 to 13. That prospect is Andrew Chapman (Waterford; uncommitted), the impressive middle infielder from the small town in Racine County.

Chapman earned a spot on the initial release of the state’s sophomore rankings and is up nearly 10 spots since September, landing comfortably within the top 15. The Waterford shortstop is an exceptional quick-twitch athlete. At a physically advanced 5-foot-11, 190 pounds, he continues to put together impressive statistical performances in front of our staff.

Most recently, at the Southern Wisconsin Open this fall, Chapman set personal bests for himself in every category, that includes: the 60-yard dash (6.87), infield velocity (83 mph), and in exit velo (94 mph). In the time between events in the summer and fall, Chapman polished his skillset and put himself into a unique category of speed and strength at a premium position. His athleticism should also bode well for versatility on the defensive side of the ball, as well as making any necessary adjustments at the plate.

We’re back at it again tomorrow. We'll be wrapping up our 2021 rankings coverage by sharing our notes on the prospects in the state who are right at the doorstep of becoming ranked, and who just missed being on the board in this update.

For now, here’s a complete look at Wisconsin’s Class of 2021 Rankings.
