Madison Preseason I.D.: Statistical Analysis

The Preseason I.D. - Madison took place on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at GRB Academy in Windsor, WI. Nearly 200 prospects from all classes participated in a pro-style workout in front of the PBR Wisconsin Scouting Staff. We continue the event analysis with a breakdown of the statistical leaders.

TOP 60 YARD DASH TIMES
Jack Krumbach (Madison Memorial, 2019) flat out blew away the rest of the competition in the 60 yard dash with his 6.66 second time. Coming in over 1/10 of a second later was OF Alex Ryan (Lakeside Lutheran, 2020) at 6.78 and trailing him by nearly the same margin were Konner Goetsch (Union Grove, 2020) and Jackson Acker (Verona, 2021) at 6.89.

TOP FASTBALL VELOCITY
A number of underclassman arms impressed with their arm strength on the mound. LHP Ryan Stefiuk (Green Bay Preble, 2020) led the way overall at 89 mph, but RHP Tyler Chadwick (Marshall, 2020) was hot on his tail at 88 mph. Two other 2020s made the leaderboard in LHP Luke Fox (Catholic Memorial, 2020) and Connor Kurki (Iola-Scandianva, 2020) both topped out at 87 mph. Uncommitted RHP/SS, and high follow 2021, Vincent Trapani (Eau Claire Memorial ran his fastball up to 88 mph.

TOP EXIT VELOCITY

The physical 1B Tyler Brandenburg (La Crosse Aquinas, 2019) was one of two prospects to record an exit velcoity of 100 mph or greater with his 103 mph effort. Scott Savage (Lake County Lutheran, 2019) was the second prospect, posting a 100 mph exit velocity off a tee.

TOP INFIELD VELOCITY

One prospect managed to break 90 mph across the infield, and that distinct honor belongs to SS Max Wagner (Green Bay Preble, 2020) who was clocked at 91 mph. Up to 90 earlier this month at Appleton Preseason I.D. on the mound, Andrew Seetalla (Appleton East, 2019) took his arm strength to the infield to record an 89 mph velocity.

The arm strength at the top of the leaderboard is comparable from top to bottom. Nathan Stevens (Waunakee, 2019) stands alone at the top, being clocked at 92 mph. Two other prospects were up to or above 90, Tyler Chadwick (Marshall, 2020) at 91 mph and Jack Haufle (Oregon, 2019) at 90 mph.

TOP CATCHER POP TIMES

Nathan Stevens (Waunakee, 2019) was impressive behind the plate to say the least, with a strong arm (81 mph) and quick feet, Stevens posted an event-best 1.87 pop time. Connor Handel (Monona Grove, 2019) matched Stevens arm strength at 81 mph, but was slightly slower at 1.94 with his pop.
