Madison Preseason I.D.: Preview

PBR Scouting Staff

This time last year, the 2017 Madison Preseason I.D. was the largest PBR event in our company’s history. That record has since been eclipsed, but expect another huge, 200-plus group of attendees at the GRB Academy in Windsor. The facility, which just opened last January, will host this preseason showcase for the second consecutive year.

The Madison-area event always allures some of the top prospects in the state and this year’s crop is just as interesting.

One of the highlights to Sunday’s roster includes the number of high-end 2020 prospects in attendance. Six of the top-15 will be there, including No. 3-ranked Vanderbilt commit LHP Ryan Stefiuk (Green Bay Preble, 2020). The rest of the 2020 attendees are highlighted by INF Max Wagner (Green Bay Preble), RHP Tyler Chadwick (Marshall), C Jake Berg (Bay Port), C Thomas Otto (Appleton North), and OF Alex Ryan (Lakeside Lutheran).

Ryan Stefiuk (3.12.17)

The leader in the clubhouse for the top spot in Wisconsin’s 2021 class is RHP Vincent Trapani (Eau Claire Memorial). Last fall we saw Trapani work at an easy 86-88 mph and rumor is there may be more when we see him this weekend.

The No. 3-ranked 2019 Nathan Stevens (Waunakee) will be the top junior in attendance. Stevens is an Arkansas commit and will likely be in early draft talks this summer for the 2019 class.
