Madison Preseason ID: Pitching Analysis

Last but certainly not least we conclude our positional analysis of the Madison Preseason I.D. The pitching group ran deep and we went with a top 20 pitching prospects.

Taking the top spot in impressive fashion was left handed sophomore Jack Eagan. Eagan climbed four mph since last seeing him and sat at 86-88 mph with equally impressive secondary stuff. Top 2015 pitching prospect Bryant Jordan followed closely putting his quick arm on display.

Here’s a look at our top 20 pitching prospects.

Top Pitching Prospects

1. Jack Eagan, LHP/OF, Wautoma, 2016
One of the top pitching prospects in the Midwest. Large frame, strong build, wide shoulders and solid lower half, 6-foot-2, 200-pound left handed pitcher and outfielder. Projects at a very high level on the mound. Delivery is directional, can create more separation, over-rotated finish. Arm action is long and quick, gets extension, high ¾ slot. Fastball is heavy at 86-88 mph, flashed run and command of the zone, high level fastball, extremely advanced for his age. Has the secondary stuff to match. Curveball has 11/5 shape, excellent action and depth, throws aggressively with near fastball arm speed, showed control of the zone, 65-68 mph. Changeup has advanced feel, showed excellent bottom, was able to control sinking action at the bottom of the zone, 74-78 mph, fastball arm action. Eagan has a tremendous upside on the mound with a big fastball, secondary pitches to match and a durable frame Eagan is sure to garner a ton of attention this year. Offensively he hits from the left side showing pull side power with a short stride and upper body generated bat speed. Path is slightly uphill, 90 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively his arm works similar to that on the mound, showed carry and the ability to play through the baseball, 86 mph from the outfield.

2. Bryant Jordan, RHP, Home School, 2015
Missouri commit. 6-foot-2, 175-pound right handed pitcher, athletic build. Jordan has one of the quickest arms in the class, works out of a high ¾ slot, regular effort. Fastball has sink, flashed heavy feel, worked at 86-89 mph, showed control of the zone. Curveball had 12/6 shape, stayed down in the zone, 74-76 mph. Changeup had advanced arm action, fastball arm speed, showed feel for the pitch with command of the zone. Jordan is one of the top pitching prospects in the state showing the strongest arm in his class.

3. Nathan Brown, RHP/SS, Arrowhead, 2016
Long lean athletic build, 6-foot-2, 175-pound high level two-way prospect. Free and easy delivery, athletic and stays directional, repeats delivery. Arm action is loose, highly athletic, quick arm action, high ¾ slot. Shows the ability to command his fastball with arm side run, 83-85 mph, touched 87 mph. Changeup is an advanced pitch, fastball arm action, has sink, 72-75 mph, excellent action and feel. Curveball has 11/5 shape, 69-70 mph, showed the ability to throw for strikes. Slider has flatter action, 72-74 mph. Offensively hits from a slightly open stance, short stride, lower half works, strong balance through finish. Bat path is short, get good extension, line drive gap to gap guy, long high finish. Hands are loose and shows barrel awareness, quietly has gap pop. Best exit velocity at the event, 98 mph from the tee. Defensively shows the ability to play the infield at a high level, soft hands, fluid footwork, plays through the baseball, can get rid of the baseball quickly. Excellent body control and athletic arm action. Arm plays at 75 mph across the diamond with carry. Brown is a high level two-way prospect, a rare athlete that shows feel for the mound and the bat.

4. Brendan Meissner, RHP, West De Pere, 2015
Illinois commit. 6-foot-2, 185-pound right handed pitcher, solid sturdy frame, athletic build. Delivery is easy and repeatable, tall and fall approach, works directionally. Arm action is clean, high ¾ arm slot, loose arm action. High pitchability guy. Fastball sat at 82-84 mph, we’ve previously seen up to 87 mph, fastball had sink and knowledge of the zone. Curveball is 11/5 shape, 71-72 mph, also showed advanced feel for the pitch. Changeup has excellent feel with command, near fastball arm speed, flashed sinking action, 74-76 mph. Meissner is one of the top pitchability guys in his class showing the ability to command multiple pitches to both sides of the plate.

5. Alexander Lee, RHP/SS, Stevens Point, 2015
6-foot, 180-pound two-way player, strong lower half, solid build. Projects well on the mound, one of the top right handed pitchers in the Class of 2015, high follow. Delivery is smooth, little effort, works online, athletic finish. Arm action is long and loose, ¾ slot. Fastball has heavy feel, late action, 86-88 mph, feel for the zone. Curveball works on 11/5 plane, later action, hard breaking ball, 74-76 mph, advanced pitch. Changeup has fastball arm action, sinking action, feel for the pitch, 80-81 mph. Defensively has a strong arm across the diamond, 82 mph. Showed the ability to play through the baseball. Offensively hits from an open stance, toe tap stride. Front foot hitter, level bat path, 69 mph exit velocity from the tee.

6. Dakota Klein, LHP, Bay Port, 2015
Long thin frame, highly projectable body, 6-foot-4, 175-pound left handed pitcher, prototypical pitchers frame. To date the best session we’ve seen from Klein. Delivery has deception, short arm action, hides ball well, closer to over the top slot, works online. Fastball flashed sink, showed the ability to command the baseball, pitched at 82-84 mph. Curveball had depth on 12/6 plane, showed excellent feel, 68-70 mph, swing and miss potential. Changeup has feel, flashed sinking action, showed control of the zone, 70-73 mph. Klein looks to be making a steady uphill progression with a ceiling that has yet to be reached, high follow prospect in the 2015 class.

7. Jack Collins, LHP/1B, Denmark, 2015
Strong build, solid lower half, 6-foot-3, 195-pound left handed pitcher and first baseman. One of the top left handed pitching prospects in the state. Tall and fall style delivery, works directionally. Arm action is loose, high ¾ slot, little effort. Fastball has slight run, 82-85 mph, has the ability to control the zone. Curveball has 11/5 shape, showed feel for the zone, 67-70 mph. Changeup is advanced, sinking action, near fastball arm speed, showed control, 69-71 mph. Hits from the left side, balanced stance, short stride. Gap to gap approach, 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed natural abilities around the bag, plays through the baseball. Arm shows carry, 77 mph across the diamond. Collins is a high follow prospect, projecting as a high level left handed pitcher.

8. Ryan Schmitt, RHP/OF, Arrowhead, 2016
Athletic build with length, 5-foot-10, 160-pound two-way player. Projects well on the mound, delivery is athletic, shows occasional effort, maintains athleticism from the stretch. Arm action is quick and loose, high ¾ slot. Fastball has run, 85-87 mph, showed feel for the zone, has finish through the zone. Curveball works on 11/5 plane, throws with aggressive arm action, occasional sharp action, 70-72 mph, advanced pitch. Showed changeup to be best secondary pitch, thrown with fastball similar arm action, sinking action, 72-74 mph, with well above average control of the zone. Offensively hits from an open stance, short stride, lower hands. Short to the baseball, above average bat speed, 84 mph exit velocity. Defensively plays through the baseball athletically, quick arm action, high ¾ slot, gets carry, 87 mph from his crow hop. Gets down the line at 4.5. Schmitt is a high level 2016 prospect with a quick arm that projects for more velocity with added strength. Schmitt is a high follow in the region.

9. Peyton Cypress, RHP, New Berlin Eisenhower, 2014
Top uncommitted senior in the state. 6-foot-2, 175-pound pitcher with a lanky frame and a four pitch mix. Delivery has rhythm, clean lines, a square finish, above average effort. Arm works quick, high ¾ slot. Fastball was straight, sitting 84-87 mph with a few pitches flashing cut action. Hard curveball had 12/6 shape, 74-77 mph, swing and miss abilities. Changeup 79-80 mph with quality sink and fade action. Also throws a split finger 75-77 mph with strong, downer action. Cypress’ aggressive nature with his arsenal makes him a high touted prospect still available in the Class of 2014.

10. Jack Bredeson, RHP, Arrowhead, 2015
6-foot-6, 235-pound, strong framed pitcher with a four pitch mix. Has a tall and fall delivery with choppy rhythm, clean lines, and above average effort. Arm works short and quick from over the top. Fastball worked downhill for strikes. Was 83-86 mph with arm side run and heavy finish. Throws a slider with strong shape and bite, 71 mph. Had feel for the changeup, throwing it with fastball arm speed, 75-77 mph with slight sinking action. Curveball was 68-69 mph with 11/5 shape.

11. Jordan Krueger, LHP/1B, Mukwonago, 2016
6-foot, 190-pound two-way player, solid build, projects more on the mound. High follow pitcher in the 2016 class. Tall and fall style delivery, works with rhythm, can get more separation. Arm action is long and loos, ¾ slot, regular effort. Fastball showed slight run with occasional sinking action, 81-83 mph, touched 84 mph, showed control of the zone. Curveball has 11/5 shape, showed control of the zone, 65-66 mph, touching 70 mph. Has excellent feel for changeup, advanced action, sink in the zone, 72-73 mph. Defensively plays with above average footwork around the bag, arm plays similar to that on the mound, 73 mph across the diamond. Hits from the left side, open stance, taller setup, short stride. Showed occasional bat speed, 84 mph exit velocity from the tee.

12. Keaton Knueppel, LHP/OF, Verona Area, 2016
6-foot-1, 175-pound two-way player, athletic build. Higher prospect on the mound, young left handed arm with projection. Delivery is athletic and repeatable, works directionally. Arm action is quick, easy arm action, loose, high ¾ slot. Fastball showed advanced feel, slightly heavier action, showed the ability to command the baseball. Curveball had 11/5 shape, flashed occasional 12/6 action, has depth and action, showed tight spin with bite, control of the zone, 67-69 mph. Changeup has feel, sinking action, near fastball arm speed, controlled the zone. Defensively has a short arm action from the outfield, high ¾, 78 mph from the outfield, works slightly uphill. Offensively hits from a balanced setup, taller, slightly open stance. Short opposite field approach, 78 mph exit velocity from the tee. Above average foot speed, 4.07 runner home to first. High follow prospect in Wisconsin’s 2016 class.

13. Riley WIkel, RHP, Muskego, 2015
6-foot, 150-pound right handed pitcher, longer legged, lean build. One of the top arms in Wisconsin’s 2015 class. Delivery is athletic, works online. Arm action is quick, loose arm, regular effort, high ¾ slot. Fastball is mostly straight, four seam action, good finish through the zone, 86-87 mph, showed excellent control of the zone. Curveball has 11/5 shape, sharp action, 71-74 mph, advanced pitch. Slider showed less action, 70-73 mph. Changeup has fading action, occasional sink, thrown with near fastball arm speed, well above average command for the pitch. 74-77 mph, advanced pitch. High follow 2015 prospect in the state.

14. Matt DeYoung, OF/RHP, Xavier, 2016
High level raw athleticism, advanced body, lean strength, 6-foot-4, 195-pound two-way prospect. Offensively hits from the left side, open stance, smooth loading action with short stride, strong balance through contact. Fast twitch hands, creates bat speed, short to it with extension, high level power potential. Defensively flashes tools, actions can be refined, shows the ability to play through the baseball, shuffles through release. Arm plays at 83 mph from the outfield, 4.26 runner down the line. On the mound delivery works online, works downhill well. Arm action is short, high ¾ slot, quick arm action. Showed command of his fastball, flashed run and sink to his arm side, 82-84 mph, touched 85 mph, excellent downhill plane. Changeup has sink, near fastball arm speed, 70-75 mph. Curveball has 11/5 tilt, 69-72 mph. DeYoung is a high level athlete with a big ceiling and one of the top prospects in a deep 2016 class in Wisconsin.

15. Keith Kutzler, RHP, Tremper, 2016
6-foot-3, 185-pound right handed pitcher, frame has length, lean build, has projectability. Arm action is slightly longer, high ¾ slot, regular effort. Fastball is mostly straight showing control of the zone, occasional sink, velocity sat 82-83 mph. Curveball has 12/6 shape, 69-71 mph, showed feel for the pitch, has swing and miss tendencies. Changeup has fade, near fastball arm action, 64-65 mph. Kutzler has well above average projectability on the mound and looks to be one of the top right handers in the Class of 2016.

16. Drake Durham, LHP, New Richmond, 2016
6-foot-2, 180-pound pitcher with projection. One of the top left handed pitching prospects in the class. Delivery uses regular effort, arm works long, high ¾ slot. Fastball was 78-80 mph, touching 81 mph with run. Changeup was 75-76 mph with fastball arm speed and occasional cut action. Curveball has 11/5 shape, loose action, 69-70 mph. Also throws a cutter with solid action at 71-74 mph. Durham is a high follow in a deep class of 2016.

17. Kanyon Fellers, LHP, Sun Prairie, 2015
6-foot-2, 170-pound left handed pitcher, lean athletic frame. Delivery is smooth and directional, maintains good balance, shows the ability to repeat delivery. Arm action is loose, high ¾ slot, little effort. Fastball has control of the zone, 79-80 mph. Curveball is advanced pitch, possibly best curveball in the class, 72-74 mph, aggressive arm action, sharp biting action on 11/5 plane. Changeup has feel, slight fading action, 73-74 mph, fastball arm action. Fellers has aggressive fastball arm action on all of his pitches making him highly deceptive throwing out of the same window. Strong follow 2015.

18. Taylor Borchers, RHP/3B, Appleton North, 2016
6-foot, 160-pound two-way prospect, stronger build. One of the top prospects in Wisconsin’s 2016 class. On the mound delivery has balance and rhythm, stays on line with a squared finish. Arm action is long and loose, ¾ slot with little effort. Fastball has slight running action to his arm side, showed the ability to command the baseball, 81-83 mph. Curveball has 10/4 shape, flatter action, is able to consistently throw for strikes, 62-63 mph, could be better suited for a hard slider. Changeup has sink, feel for the pitch, 67-70 mph. Offensively hits from an open stance, short stride, maintains balance. Strong hitter, makes hard contact, line drive hitter, gap to gap approach, well above average bat speed, 79 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively plays with softer hands, third base type, showed the ability to play through the baseball with athletic footwork, body control present. Arm action is loose, lower slot, 74 mph across the diamond, athletic arm action. 4.43 runner home to first.

19. Alec Marsh, 3B/RHP, Reagan College Prep, 2016
6-foot-2, 185-pound two-way player with an athletic frame and long legs, projects well. At the plate hits from a balanced, slightly open stance, short stride, solid lower half involvement, quality balance. Has line drive swing with gap-to-gap coverage, fluid rhythm and loose hands, quick swing that generates lift and barrel whip. Exit velocity was 81 mph off the tee. At third base he plays through balls athletically with sound hands and clean exchanges. Arm works short, high ¾ slot, 72 mph across the diamond. Posted a 4.43 home to first time. On the mound he uses a tall and fall delivery with clean lines, some rhythm, regular effort. Arm works quick and loose, high ¾ slot. Fastball was 79-82 mph for consistent strikes. Changeup was a quality off speed offering, sitting 69-73 mph with sink. Curveball has 11/5 shape, sitting 66-67 mph.

20. Connor Rutherford, LHP/OF, De Pere, 2015
6-foot-4, 190-pound two-way player, excellent frame with potential. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, regular stride. Made hard contact, hands have quickness, pull side approach, 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively plays with a short loose arm action, high ¾ slot, 81 mph from a crowhop. 4.15 runner home to first. On the mound delivery is smooth with loose arm action. Fastball showed cut action, 79-81 mph, showed feel. Curveball has depth on 11/5 plane, 69-70 mph. Changeup flashed sink, 74-77 mph.

Best of the Rest (Listed Alphabetically)

Joe Acker, OF/RHP, Marquette University, 2016
5-foot-11, 165-pound two-way player, athletic build. One of the top outfield prospects in the Class of 2016. Offensively hits from the right side, balanced stance, taller setup, smooth loading action and short stride. Advanced bat path, short to the baseball with extension, loose athletic hands, repeats his swing well, maintains excellent balance through contact. Posted 97 mph exit velocity from the tee, projects as a high level hitter. Defensively arm action is long and over the top, produces carry, 85 mph arm strength from the outfield. Has the athleticism to play through the baseball better. Acker has the ability to be a high level offensive threat and is another high level prospect in a strong 2016 class. Fastball sits 79-81 mph, long arm action, showed some feel for the zone. Curveball has 12/6 shape, some depth, slow roller with some depth, 62-65 mph. Aggressive changeup at 76-78 mph.

Ryan Bader, LHP/OF, Mukwonago, 2017
6-foot, 142-pound two-way player, longer frame, slender build. Projects better on the mound, delivery has direction, slight drop and drive style. Arm action is loose, high ¾ arm slot, regular effort. Above average arm strength for his age, fastball has erratic action, lively 76-77 mph. Curveball is 61-64 mph, can tighten up, was better from the stretch. Showed a knuckleball at 60-62 mph. Offensively hits from a wider stance, slightly open, short stride, dive. Opposite field contact, 78 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm worked similar to that on the mound, 76 mph, showed above average actions for his age. 4.4 runner down the line.

Michael Beardmore, OF/RHP, Janesville Craig, 2016
5-foot-11, 145-pound two-way player. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, short stride. Slightly uphill bat path, 88 mph exit velocity. Defensively plays with a crow hop from the outfield. 73 mph arm strength from the outfield. Runs a 4.33 down the line. On the mound fastball is mostly straight, 64-66 mph, touching 67 mph. Curveball has 12/6 shape, 51-53 mph. Changeup thrown near fastball arm speed, straight action, 58-61 mph.

Kyle Cable, OF/LHP, St. Joseph, 2015
5-foot-10, 175-pound left handed two-way player. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, short stride approach. Bat path is flat, level swing plane, 77 mph exit velocity. Defensively plays in the outfield from a high ¾ slot, 75 mph arm strength. 4.67 runner down the line from the left side. On the mound fastball sat 70-72 mph, subtle sink. Curveball has 11/5 shape, 66 mph. Changeup has occasional sink, 69-71 mph.

Rock Cates, SS/RHP, Madison West, 2015
6-foot-3, 165-pound lanky, two-way player with quick twitch actions. On the infield he showed solid hands and quick exchanges. Arm works short, high ¾ slot, 74 mph across the diamond. Posted a 4.11 home to first time. At the plate hits from a tall, open stance with smooth load and leg kick trigger, solid balance through contact. Swing is short with extension and solid bat speed. Exit velocity was 81 mph off the tee. On the mound his delivery has choppy rhythm and regular effort. Arm works short, from high ¾ slot. Fastball was 77-79 mph with slight sinking action. Curveball had 10/4 shape with slurve action, sitting 64-66 mph for strikes. Changeup was 70-73 mph with fading action. Throws a slider at 70-73 mph with light action.

Ryan Davila, LHP/OF, Warren (IL), 2016
6-foot, 185-pound  left handed, two-way player with a strong frame. On the mound he has a tall and fall delivery with some rhythm, clean lines, level shoulders, and some effort. Arm works quick and loose from high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 78-79 mph with occasional arm side run for strikes. Showed quality feel for his changeup, sitting 71-72 mph with sink and run, consistently in the bottom half of the strike zone. Curveball has 11/5 shape, 63-66 mph, lacks identity. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance with a short load where the foot gets up and down, maintains balance. Swing is short with quick hands, choppy rhythm. Exit velocity was 83 mph off the tee. Defensively he fields with two hands as he plays through the ball. Arm works from a high ¾ slot at 76 mph. Posted a 4.48 home to first time.

Chris DeKrey, RHP/OF, Jefferson, 2017
6-foot-2, 180-pound lanky, two way player. On the mound his delivery works with choppy rhythm, clean direction, regular effort. Works out of the stretch only. Arm works from a high ¾ slot. Fastball was 75-78 mph and straight. Throws a changeup at 66-69 mph with sinking action. Defensively, showed solid hands with clean exchanges. Arm works long and loose with some accuracy and carry, 76 mph. Ran a 4.29 home to first time. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, short stride, solid balance. Swing is steep with stiff rhythm. Exit velocity was 78 mph off the tee.

Griffin Doersching, 1B/RHP, Greendale, 2017
6-foot-2, 230-pound two way player with a large, strong frame that projects well. At the plate he hits from an open stance. Swing is fluid and strong. Uses a toe tap load and launch sequence and generates advanced bat speed and power. Consistently strong contact with strong extension. Exit velocity was 82 mph off a tee. At first base he showed he can move with athletic feet and knows his way around the bag. Arm action is athletic and short, 67 mph across the infield. Posted a 4.69 home to first time. On the mound he uses a tall and fall delivery with clean lines, regular effort. Arm works clean, high ¾ slot. Fastball was straight, 74-78 mph. Showed advanced feel for changeup, throwing it with quality sink and fade, 71-73 mph. Showed the ability to command his curveball for strikes, throwing it with 11/5 shape, gradual break, 66-70 mph.

Jack Drake, RHP, Edgewood, 2016
6-foot-1, 175-pound right handed pitcher, standard build. Delivery works directionally, regular effort. Long arm action, high ¾ slot. Fastball is mostly straight, 74-76 mph, showed control of the zone. Curveball has 11/5 shape, 64-66 mph, showed feel. Changeup has sinking action, 71-73 mph, excellent feel for the pitch. We’ve seen Drake’s fastball up to 79 mph in the fall and has solid projection going forward.

Jordon Gomez, RHP/INF, Marshall, 2016
6-foot, 160-pound two-way player, gangly frame. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, leg lift stride. Front foot hitter, 69 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively plays with a loose arm action, high ¾ slot, 68 mph across the diamond. 4.76 runner home to first. On the mound arm works from a high ¾ slot, 70-73 mph, mostly straight. Curveball has 11/5 shape, 61-62 mph. Changeup has slight sink, 67-70 mph.

Martin Gonzalez, RHP, Waukesha West, 2017
5-foot-7, 155-pound right handed pitcher. Delivery has regular effort, arm action is loose, high ¾ arm slot. Fastball has slight run, showed control of the zone, 77-78 mph touched 80 mph. Curveball has 12/6 shape, 63-66 mph. Knuckleball showed some action, 62-63 mph, showed feel. Gonzalez showed above average arm strength for his age and his arm works well enough to see improved velocity with added size and strength.

Ty Jandrowski, LHP, Kenosha Bradford, 2014
6-foot-2, 190-pound left handed pitcher, sturdy lower half. Tall and fall delivery, regular effort, loose arm action, high ¾ slot. Fastball has occasional sink, showed the ability to command the zone, 80-81 mph, touched 83 mph. Curveball has 11/5 action, slurve action, 11/5 plane, 65-69 mph. Changeup has sink, 67-70 mph, showed feel. Flirted with a knuckle ball, showed some flutter, 66-69 mph. Jandrowski showed well on the mound, previously only seeing him with the bat Jandrowski has the ability to be a two-way player at Madison College.

JJ Johnson, RHP/OF, Edgewood, 2015
6-foot, 190-pound athletic two-way player with a strong frame that projects well. From the outfield he showed high quality, natural actions with quick footwork. Arm works short, over the top, 91 mph with strong carry. Ran a 4.41 home to first time. At the plate he hits from an open stance, short stride, solid lower half usage, above average balance. Has a line drive swing with fluid rhythm, quick bat speed. Exit velocity was 82 mph off the tee. On the mound he has a tall and fall delivery with some rhythm and effort. Arm works from over the top with clean action. Fastball was straight, sitting 80-82 mph. Showed feel for his breaking ball, throwing it with sweeping slurve action at 68-70 mph for strikes. Changeup was 78-80 mph with sinking action.

Cooper Kelly, RHP/OF, Edgewood, 2017
5-foot-9, 140-pound two-way player, athletic build. On the mound operates from a high ¾ arm slot, regular arm action, works on line. Fastball has slight action, 77-78 mph, above average arm strength for his age. Breaking ball works on 12/6 plane, 68-69 mph. Changeup has occasional cut, 71-75 mph, near fastball arm speed. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, short stride, maintains solid balance. Athletic swing, loose hands, smooth approach. Path has some lift, 77 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively works from the outfield with a long over the top arm action, 82 mph arm strength from the outfield. Plays through the baseball with athletic feet, 4.34 runner down the line.

Anthony Leedle, LHP, Clinton, 2016
Long large frame, 6-foot-6, 210-pound left handed pitcher, has filled out some since the last time seeing him. Regular effort from a high ¾ arm slot. Large frame, 6-foot-5, 190-pound two-way player, lean build, projects well. Offensively hits from the right side, wider stance, balanced setup, short stride. Swing shows strength, hard contact, advanced bat speed, 93 mph exit velocity. Has power potential. Defensively showed some athleticism, hands played, long arm action at 72 mph across the diamond. On the mound uses a similar arm action, fastball is mostly straight, occasional cut action, showed control of the zone, 77-79 mph. Curveball has 12/6 shape, 70-71 mph. Changeup has slight arm side action, 77 mph.

Adam Lukas, RHP/1B, Grafton, 2016
6-foot-2, 220-pound two way player with a strong frame. On the mound he has a tall and fall delivery with regular effort. Arm works long and loose from a low ¾ slot. Fastball is straight, sat 77-80 mph, flashing 81 mph once. Throws a curveball with 10/4 shape and sweeping action, 62-68 mph. Showed feel for his changeup, throwing it for consistent strikes, 73-75 mph. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance, backward hand load, short stride, some balance. Swing is stiff, with a short path. Exit velocity was 73 mph off a tee. At first base he showed stiff actions. Arm works at 72 mph across the diamond. Posted a 4.68 home to first time.

Garrett McGraw, RHP/MIF, Lodi, 2015
6-foot, 160-pound two-way player. Hits from the right side, balanced stance, short stride. Moderate bat speed, late bat waggle, some whip. 76 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed infield actions, arm action is athletic, showed body control. Short arm action played at 71 mph across the diamond. On the mound, fastball is mostly straight, 76-78 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape, 63-65 mph, above average action. Changeup showed some feel, 71-72 mph.

Aaron Mutter, RHP/OF, Burlington, 2016
6-foot-4, 225-pound two way player with a physical frame. Offensively, he hits from an open stance with a leg kick trigger. Swing is strong and quick, generating significant barrel whip and good extension. Showed ability to drive the ball from gap to gap. Exit velocity was 88 mph. At first base he showed solid hands while playing through the ball athletically. Arm works accurately at 77 mph across the infield. Posted a 4.6 home to first time. On the mound he uses a standard delivery with a squared landing. Arm works short, from over the top. Fastball was 79-80 mph with little action. Curveball has 12/6 shape, rolling break, 63-66 mph. Changeup was 70-72 mph with occasional cut.

Evan Ostertag, RHP/SS, Green Bay East, 2015
6-foot-1, 150-pound two-way player, lanky build. On the mound works from a high ¾ slot, longer arm action. Fastball is mostly straight, 73-75 mph. Curveball has gradual action, 58-62 mph. Changeup has sink, 64-65 mph. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, short stride. 70 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm plays at 67 mph across the diamond. Runs a 4.43 down the line.

Riley Pelischek, LHP/OF, Denmark, 2015
6-foot-1, 170-pound left handed two-way player, lanky build, projectable frame. Higher projection as a left handed pitcher. Delivery is smooth, tall and fall approach. Arm action is long and loose, high ¾ slot. Fastball has run, works downhill, showed control of the bottom of the zone, 79-80 mph, topped out at 82 mph. Has feel for curveball, above average action, 11/5 plane, 67-69 mph. Changeup has control, 72-74 mph, slightly decelerated arm action.  Offensively hits from a balances stance, short stirde. Flat bat path, occasionally drops hands. 66 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively plays with a long arm action from a high ¾ slot, 82 mph from the outfield, showed the ability to play through the baseball. 4.39 runner  down the line.

Charlie Peterson, OF/RHP/INF, Waukesha South, 2017
6-foot-2, 175-pound multi-positional, long limbed player. Arm works long and loose, high ¾, from both the infield and outfield. Outfield actions much more natural and athletic. 72 mph from the outfield. 69 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.51 home to first time. Showed a solid swing at the plate. Hits from an open stance, short stride, quality balance through contact. Line drive swing with level path. Exit velocity was 73 mph off the tee. On the mound he has a tall and fall delivery, level shoulders, clean lines, and regular effort. Arm is long and loose, high ¾ slot. Fastball was straight, 73-76 mph for strikes. Throws an 11/5 breaking ball with rolling action, 63-65 mph. Changeup is thrown with fastball arm speed for consistent strikes, 68-72 mph with fading action.

Casey Ryan, RHP/SS, Markesan, 2015
6-foot, 160-pound two-way player, average build. On the mound works with a short arm action, high ¾ slot, regular effort, finish falls to first base side. Fastball is mostly straight, four seam action, 78-81 mph. Curveball is 64-67 mph, 11/5 plane, occasionally casts. Changeup sits at 71-73 mph, fastball similar arm action. Offensively hits from a slightly open stance, short stride. Bat path is short, can gain more extension, 72 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively plays with a short arm action, accurate to his target, 73 mph across the diamond. Fielding position has a wider base, lets baseball get deep. 4.28 runner down the line.

6-foot-3, 180-pound two-way player, long frame, slender build. On the mound arm works from an over the top slot with some effort. Fastball is mostly straight, 81-82 mph, touched 83 mph. Slider has depth, more downward action, 71-75 mph. Straight changeup flashed sink, 70-72 mph. Offensively hits from a wide stance, short stride. Bat path is long, late trigger, above average bat speed, 90 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively plays in the outfield with two hands, over the top arm action. Above average footspeed, 4.01 runner down the line.

6-foot-3, 170-pound athletic, lanky, two-way player. On the mound his delivery has easy effort, smooth rhythm, upright finish. Arm works long, quick, low ¾ slot. Fastball showed run and sink, sitting 80-83 mph. Changeup is thrown with fastball arm speed, 72-75 mph with sink, for strikes. Curveball was 71-73 mph, on one plane. At third base he showed solid hands, clean exchanges, and plays through it athletically. Arm works short, from high ¾ slot, 78 mph with accuracy. Posted a 4.33 home to first time. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance, short stride, strong lower half, quality balance through contact. Line drive type swing with fluid rhythm, above average bat speed. Exit velocity was 79 mph off the tee.

Kyle Schulz, OF/LHP, Bradford, 2015
Athletic 5-foot-10, 150-pound left handed throwing outfielder. Defensively shows advanced actions in the outfield, plays through the baseball well, fields in stride. Footwork is fluid and quick, 4.08 runner down the line. Arm plays at 84 mph from the outfield, long over the top arm action, creates carry. Curveball has slurve type action, 11/5 tilt, 64-65 mph, shows feel. Changeup sits at 74-75 mph, occasional sinking action. Van Kampen has a frame that can carry plenty of additional strength, his projection make him a strong follow in the 2015 class.

6-foot, 175-pound two-way player, solid build. On the mound works from an over the top slot, regular effort, slight collapse on back side. Four seam fastball is mostly straight, some finish, showed control of the zone, 81-83 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape, occasional 12/6 action, showed feel, 69-71 mph. Offensively hits from an open stance, short stride, solid balance. Shows some strength at the plate, uphill path, bat speed present. 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively shuffles through the baseball in the outfield, footwork can improve. 4.65 runner down the line. Arm action is short and over the top, creates carry, 87 mph from the outfield.

Long lanky frame, slender build, 6-foot-3, 180-pound two-way player, frame has high projectability. On the mound uses a long arm action, high ¾ slot. Fastball has run, 77-78 mph, touched 79. Curveball has 12/6 shape, 65-66 mph. Changeup has fade, 69-72 mph. Offensively this from the right side, balanced stance, short stride approach, slight leg lift, solid balanced with two handed finish. 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively uses a long firm arm action, showed the ability to play through the baseball. 72 mph across the diamond. Showed foot speed running a 4.12 down the line. Projectable prospect who is a strong follow.

Strong solid build, 6-foot-4, 195-pound right handed pitcher. Works from a full windup delivery, arm action is loose, high ¾ slot, lands open. Fastball is mostly straight, showed control of the zone, 82-83 mph, touched 84 mph. Curveball worked occasionally on 11/5 plane, decelerated arm action, 65-66 mph. Straight changeup with some sink, showed some feel and control of the zone, 73-75 mph.
